Because its an unpredictable and harsh world and knowing that the most powerful thing in the world loves me and looks out for me gives me warm comfort.
I find way more comfort in God not caring about me but I worship God because of how magnificent and better God is than me. It's like I can't help but submit.
The belief that God cares about me and has a human relationship with me diminishes the power of God. I'd rather believe God to be this unknowably beautiful thing
God loves me precisely because he is magnificent and better than anything. He is so great he loves everyone and everything. The greatest great that ever greated. Thus I live my life in the comfort that he'll make everything right. Heck he even took birth and died for my sins. Now I can sin however I want and his love will not diminish. How cool is that. Who wouldn't love the fact that the creater of this vast cosmos loves you personally.
>God loves me precisely because he is magnificent and better than anything. He is so great he loves everyone and everything.
He is beyond love. You saying he loves you is coping out of fear of the unknown.

He doesn't love you personally. You attribute love to him because he's greater than you and you believe that creation is a byproduct of love. It's not. He's beyond all of us. If you truly loved God, then you'd love him regardless of the selfish reasons.

How dare you say God is a cope!! He IS real. He DOES love me. Because God is good and God is infinite therefore his love is infinite. I WILL go to heaven. I WILL live forever in heaven.
>You attribute love to him because he's greater than you
Yup that's just how it is. Wheather I love him for selfish reasons or not doesn't matter to something so great.

God is real.
He is beyond love. You are not understanding this. YOU are attributing love to him.
God is beyond good as well. Stop attributing flimsy human virtues on an impossibly large being
You have the theology of an American Non Denominational Protestant. If God loves people, then he certainly hates them too and your people are the synagogue of Satan

Yes I am. I literally don't see the problem with this. And I literally don't care otherwise as long as he keeps on loving me ,does his job and saves a spot for me in heaven.

It's wrong because you insult and diminish the size of God by putting weak human values onto him. He doesn't operate like us. It's like saying that we should live with the morals of an floating sea plankton. Also, there is no "spot in heaven" because heaven is nonbeing. You will not even be aware of heaven. It will be heaven because it's not suffering, and suffering is awareness and knowing, which upon death, only happens when you are too attached to materiality.
>God died for sins therefore he doesn't hate me
You have no idea what his alterior motives were. Your weak understanding of truth blinds you from seeing things as objective. He doesn't love or hate because he is beyond love and hate.
Of course not! Caring about truth? What do you take me for, a heathen? Or worse, a sinful atheist midwit? *yuck*
I absolutely unequivocally love god and he the creater of the vast cosmos, in his infinite capacity, will love me and welcome me in his heavenly abode. Where I will live forever without losing my conscious ego. That's all that matters
Right on brother. And what is truth anyway? A lie agreed on by everyone becomes the truth. And a lie repeated a thousand times starts sounding like the truth. Repeat it enough times and you may even convince yourself. So why not create your own truth that serves your own psycho social needs? Infact I might start spamming threads and posts about how much God loves me and how he'll give me eternal life to strengthen my conviction in my self serving beliefs. Though I may have some catching up to do with OP
I definitely understand the value that religion has played throughout history. Some people need religion to stay on path, so many people leave the life of crime etc. because they found a sense of higher life, you can’t take that away from the world as long as people like that are there because that will cause chaos.
When we think we are alone,
God Still Watch our tears,
He knows our deep pain,
He knows our greatest fear,
Although he may seem silent,
but He is never far away,
We can call him anytime,
All we have is to pray,
>any Poems about God?
THE world is charged with the grandeur of God.
It will flame out, like shining from shook foil;
It gathers to a greatness, like the ooze of oil
Crushed. Why do men then now not reck his rod?
Generations have trod, have trod, have trod;
And all is seared with trade; bleared, smeared with toil;
And wears man's smudge and shares man's smell: the soil
Is bare now, nor can foot feel, being shod.
And, for all this, nature is never spent;
There lives the dearest freshness deep down things;
And though the last lights off the black West went
Oh, morning, at the brown brink eastward, springs--
Because the Holy Ghost over the bent
World broods with warm breast and with ah! bright wings
Because he is the only force that fill the gaps of our knowledge

you don't care if this is the truth?
Humans are incapable of knowing the truth. We are incapable of knowing anything. So anything outside of our flawed material existence is akin to truth
let's say some humans are more capable than others

Something is true in direct correlation to how useful it is for me to believe it

The notion that there is a sentient uncreated Creator is the only logical conclusion to the origin of the universe.
