As if kids of the religious in a largely secular society never stop practicing or stray from the faith.
>but Muslims tho
Muslims stop having kids when they get middle class and stop living in shitholes
Because they're able to sniff out that being non-religious gives you the most opportunities from the higher ups in this world. They're just doing whatever it takes to get ahead and appease their overlords.
>Why do smart people tend to be less religious?
False. Most atheists / nihilists are the dumbest people you could ever meet. 99.99% of the smartest people in history believed in God.
My IQ was tested last month: 130. I usually feel stupid, so either 130 isn't smart or most people are moronic subhuman pigs. I feel like I barely qualify as a human being, so that's frightening. Maybe you only become a real person 120+ haha
Faith is belief in something you can't prove and atheism is the disbelief in something you can't disprove. I consider the whole question "above my pay grade", although I hate atheists and like Christian breeders. Maybe a genius will know?

Because IQ is a pseudoscience only a couple of tiers above measuring skulls with a compass.
1 out of 10 people that do an IQ test will give them a score way higher or much lower than thei're actual IQ.
I refuse to believe people in western countries have an average IQ of 95-105 when millions keep voting the way they do, every single time. Most people are braindead morons, regardless of age, gender and race, end of.

my understanding is that IQ is rigorous enough to capture a factor of general intelligence "g" that correlates with life outcomes.
at 130 IQ I'm smart enough to know that I'm not a genius. I'm aware of the "sheep brain" automatic dim picture of reality most people live with, because I can operate at that level. I can sense "beyond" it though, to a clearer, colder, harsher world most people can't see, if that makes sense. It’s really unsurprising you don’t even know how iq tests even work. Every single time someone with your attitude comes along it’s the same thing. Iq tests are incredibly predictive of all kinds of things, as far as tests go they are the gold standard. Not perfect, but they are quite the feat. >I refuse to believe people in western countries have an iq of 95-100
Man. When you learn how iq tests work you are gonna feel really stupid, at least i hope you do. Next time you criticize something, try doing a little research first.

Judging a tree by the fruit it bears, I dislike atheism because the new atheists were weasels. I also dislike Christianity's "meek" slave morality, universalism, and globalism. It also does nothing for me emotionally and bores me to tears.
The evidence demonstrates religcucks have lower IQs than chadtheists and the differences are on the most genetic components of IQ. See Dutton and Kirkegaard's paper.
This always cracks me up from you people. >evidence is gathered and studies are done. Evidence all points to a particular conclusion >you enter the room >nuh uh! I once saw an atheist that was super dumb! This refutes all the evidence perfectly so I’m right
You are only lending more evidence to their conclusion with your stupidity and you don’t even realize it lmao. As an aside I couldn’t be less surprised by this. You have to be one dumb mother fricker to believe in literal fairy tales as an adult
Because a lot of religious people use religion as an excuse to groom children, and rape women or even men.

Lol the average IQ of Ireland is like 98, it's a nation of morons. Considering Catholics in the US are either Irish, Southern Italian/Sicilian and Latin American, it makes sense that most Catholics are dumber than Prots.
I swear to God any mention of IQ on this board is poison.
The most likely explanation for this correlation is education, which is also going to negatively correlate with age. Younger people tend to be less religious, and tend to have a higher level of education than past generations.
Professors tend on average to be more left-wing than the general public. But you're not going to find many actual marxist professors unless you're taking sociology courses.

There were definitely a large chunk of professors who were Marxists.
Ironically the most right wing teachers I met were in journalism rather than business or something
you're confusing intelligent people with midwits. intellectuals never care for political tribalism beyond how it can serve them or as a mechanism, they always think with a detached, impersonal attitude that does not allow for emotion or ideations. an intelligent person is capable of critique and a theory of mind so marxist propaganda will not work on them, they will notice it and brush it aside
Intelligence = superiority = natural desire to create an imbalance of power, to put the stupid in their place for as they would be parasites on your intelligence = the desire to create 'master morality'
Christianity/post-AD "religiosity" = eradicates master morality = eradicates superiority = eradicates intelligence
There, I just solved this whole FRICKING GODDAMN THREAD.
Unironically based. The ancient definition of pride needs to be restored-- and of course, refined for the modern ages to incorporate a meaning that doesn't necessarily rely on slavery.

Because the more you think about it the less sense any organized religion makes. Even when smart people have some sort of spiritual belief they are usually heretical to some degree or another.
metaphysics is a mind trap.
some of the most intelligent people were very "familiar" with the occult.
religion sets up a bunch of intelligence traps.

i dont know if islam sets up as many hospitals and supported living programs for all the moronic and addicted muslims
the more educated your become, the more difficult it is to trust something that for all intents and purposes doesn't have anything to back it up with, sure it could be right since there isn't any way to prove its false, but at the same time there also isn't anything to prove it right, not helped by the fact that there are so many different religions with even said religions having multiple variations just makes it even more difficult for an educated person to fully commit to, its the equivalent of an absolute stranger stating you are part of a once in a lifetime opportunity so long as you choose a specific category and a specific subset of that category and follow its guidelines
Most religious people are religious because they have been raised that way. More intelligent people are mostly just more critical and tend to question things they have been told by other people, religion being among them.
> Inb4 most geniuses in history were religious
Yes, but they almost always put very deep thought in their religion and developed a theology of their own, rather than just accepting the teachings of others.
Religion isn't as necessary our modern, urban, services/knowledge based economy.
The people most directly involved in this culture tend to be more educated.
Simple as.
Because they live in the city and city people tend to not be religious
You want smart people that believe in God, put them in farms like Chris Langan and let them live truly independently and they will think about God all the time.
Now use that brain of yours to listen to this, and do not be arrogant like satan was during the creation of Adam (pbuh)
I love when Christians post this because they never read the study or couldn’t understand it.
The medial frontal cortex regulates fear and the study design was based around seeing how people’s belief changes when you shut down their fear response, in this case of death specifically.

UFO probe rape survivors genuinely believe they got kidnapped and fricked by alien babes!!! It makes it true!
Intelligence is a scam anyway. A chad religious zealot will most often than not win a fight to the death with a rationalist atheist queer. This is the main reasons atheists are often pacifists
without intelligence at some point you'd never be writing this post and id never be doing the same. intelligence is literally the only thing that matters for modern humans, once you have made strength defunct with tech that can supplement the role of the organic to a monstrous degree, you have completely changed the entire system. a dumbass zealot can feel mighty until the intelligent nerd drone strikes him from across the world.
What religion would an intelligent person even believe in though?
Lets be honest all the religions we have are now out of date, all the abrahamic religions reflect a time when most people were farmers and were ruled by an emperor or lord, Christianity at least has christ whose teaching of love and pacifism are teachings which are still relevant but even still two thirds of his teachings are trust in god which is the problem. It is now irrevocably evident that there is no god. Worse however is that god is irrelevant, all the problems man face now are man made, we are no longer afraid of thunder but rather nuclear bombs.
I think intelligent people could be religious but there would just have to be a religion which makes sense of the ills of today

Transhumanisn is a logical conclusion of the tenets of the holy Catholic faith. Where Catholic see "holy Trinity", transhumanists see one Universe being particles, waves and laws of nature, where Catholics see immortality, transhumanists see quantum immortality, where Catholics see healing, transhumanists see nanomachines, where Catholics see resurrection, transhumanists see upload of consciousness to a Singilarity. Catholicism and transhumanism are one and the same. Further reading: >Charles Hartshorne >John B. Cobb >fr. Pierre Teilhard de Chardin >cardinal Henri de Lubec >David Ray Griffin

Nonsense. The parallels between Christianity and Transhumanism are too rudimentary to have any significance. They're coincidental. Even if it were true, Transhumanism would be stripped of all religious aesthetics as a product of scientific materialism/rationalism/empiricism, with it being a system of what can be measured and seen in human terms. Christianity doesn't fit this, it's largely about self-hating, living in fear of God, and never aspiring to be anything more than a slave to him. Transhumanism is all about ascending from nature to become some grotesque mechanical divinity.

"Nothingness" doesn't exist by definition, so there never was anything like "nothing" because then "nothing" would be "something". Read monists.
Believe it or not the discussion section of that meta-study gave some suggestions that they included in the abstract, they are as follows.
>Three possible interpretations were discussed. First, intelligent people are less likely to conform and, thus, are more likely to resist religious dogma. Second, intelligent people tend to adopt an analytic (as opposed to intuitive) thinking style, which has been shown to undermine religious beliefs. Third, several functions of religiosity, including compensatory control, self-regulation, self-enhancement, and secure attachment, are also conferred by intelligence. Intelligent people may therefore have less need for religious beliefs and practices.
All religion is nothing more than an elaborate cope when faced with the quiet indifference of the world. Everything is an insanely complexx yet infinitely simple yawning abyss of material stuff that interacts with itself all the time forever, and nothin more need be said about the matter. But humans cannot accept this and dream up elaborate troony coping mechanisms for their self imposed predicament.
yes but there is no reason to be afraid or panicked. human beings scream at ghosts, imaginary concepts they invent in their minds and then impose upon themselves. the world is very peaceful and very simple, but people complicate it for literally no reason, other than perhaps their human brains being problem solving tools, and without a real tangible "problem" to solve, it creates some lest it atrophies

You cannot calculate probability of life arising from matter when we have absolutely no idea how much matter exists, we still don’t know how many planets exist even in the observable universe, he certainly didn’t back then.
The probability calculation is completely pulled from his ass, and again he did not know that amino acids, organic compounds of all kinds and even proteins are naturally occurring. This has just been discovered in recent decades.
I can’t believe you guys get your knowledge of reality from meme images. Jesus fricking Christ

I could also say that any analysis of an advanced society is statistically impossible, because another advanced society might exist somewhere else in the universe. You're literally making an argument from ignorance, and it won't work.
Anyway, the amount of amino acids on rocks aren't sufficient for the emergence of life. We already know this. You don't simply need amino acids and organic compounds to create life, you need specific acids and in the correct amounts, which are not known to merely occur naturally. Or at least, there is no evidence to suggest that this is the case. That I am aware of, but prove me wrong if you can.

Anon he gave a number range for probability, and probability is a calculation.
He did not have the necessary info to make that calculation. We dont have enough information now and he had way less information about the number of habitable planets, organic chemistry and the size of the universe.
A) Religions don't tend to make sense in light of logic.
B) More intelligent people tend to be wealthier, hence less likely to need an emotional crutch.
Threadly reminder that Christians are more educated on average than atheists.
The only exception to this rule are places like Europe and America, which have declining birthrates and actually in deep cultural death-spirals for other non-related reasons.
Why can I know so many other things, except whether or not a god can exist?
Why is knowledge possible at all, except for that specific knowledge? It seems almost convieenient to me.
Of course anon, I didn’t claim they were lying. I claimed the headline is designed to make low iq atheists think the latest meta study suggests the magnitude is large. Which is what made OP so excited.
This is obvious. Smart religious people aren't religious in the same sense as the nominal religious person is. For the more intelligent religious people, it is much more philosophical and rational than the faith and feelings of the masses.
To your point: christianity of the masses is a complete farce of what the faith really is. Very few christians attempt to really understand their faith in any sort of meaningful way because it is taught by morons for morons. No one wants to be challenged in church.
>Why do smart people tend to be less religious?
All human beings are religious.
These so called 'smart' people tend to be the most zealous cultists when it comes to their own dogmas. I mean, we just lived through the greatest witch hunt in centuries, all of these college educated "atheists" trying burn people at the stake for refusing their god of vaccination. And how did that end? Turns out they were completely wrong, about covid being dangerous, or the vaccine effective.
https://www.israelnationalnews.com/news/328102
etc
There's a lot of gods for these types. Religious people won't usually murder, but these 'atheists' are out for blood the second anyone goes against their groupthink about certain topics like race or democracy for example.
It's genuinely hilarious how these over educated 'enlightened' people who perform and fund studies to jerk off to their own enlightenment are also the most dreadful and irrational hypocrites.
Dumb people are more likely to believe in invisible sky wizards, talking snakes, virgin births and magic israelites. A chadtheist is just going to say that's bullshit and you're a dumbass for believing that.
Because religious institutions have chased away people who wish to discuss, learn, and improve to create a safe space for boomers to sit around, and be told the feelgood messages of their childhood.
Among high intelligence people, religiosity and conservatism predicts fertility. Ergo, intelligent liberals and atheists are self-selecting themselves out of the population. Increasingly, high IQ people will be very conservative/religious people with large families, i.e. traditionalists.
Atheism belongs to the midwit.
>smart people share my traits >dumb people share your traits >people I like= good >people I don't like = bad
That's basically the bottom line of all of these studies tbh. It doesn't matter if it's rightoids trying to prove blacks are moronic or leftoids trying to prove religious prove Christians are moronic. Somebody's making their own personal statement and you should instinctively distrust them even if your politics incline you toward agreeing with them.
Because when you tell a smart person that they should believe in talking snakes, unverifiable miracles, and an afterlife with entrance rules determined by bronze age savages... well they just sort of don't take it seriously.
>MUH METAPHOR
This is to justify your suspension of disbelief because at heart you're a modern materialist coping. Literally no one but fringe occultists and esoteric cults ever thought the Bible wasn't the actual history of mankind.
well first, how does one define 'smart'? who defined it? smart people? what is smart? intelligent? wise? both? wise > smart, at least until the smart become wise
to answer your question though, its because they are inherently separate and competing skillsets. But they do not have to be. Plato (in the Republic) described the two as the visible and the intellectual (which makes things confusing regarding your question. But, essentially, its the separate ways for which we obtain understanding. The visible, aka our five senses; the intellectual, the way in which we attempt to make sense of the visible and what it does and does not tell us about something >You have to imagine, then, that there are two ruling powers, and that one of them is set over the intellectual world, the other over the visible.
he believed that the intellectual are the things that must be learned via philosophizing and dialectics and that the ascertainment of the purest form of Good is contingent on a systemization of established principles, like how we learn math; established concepts like pi, being the product of a continuity of previous peoples questions asked, pursued, and answered
the problem, however, is that God is something you cannot simplify or quantify to someone else using words. the idea of God, and the conceptualization can be taught, but to actually know God, requires ones own personal experience to understand. And the result of which, doesn't make sense. Not to someone who hasn't been in his presence.
God defies the intellectual knowledge, and has capabilities beyond what we think to be impossible (i.e. the understood laws of the universe).
And God defies the visible (five senses) by targeting a sixth sense. Something which cannot be comprehended without experience. It's like trying to impart the experience of an acid trip you had to a mormon. Explanation is insufficient, it must be experienced to comprehend. think Plato's cave allegory, never having turned your head
which begs the question, if the 'smart' people are people who have never turned their head, are they even smart? or is it the ones who managed to escape from the cave?
What the study showed is that people who still believe in ancient gods and worship them because they think they are real in the modern day tend to be less intelligent than people who don’t do that.
The former group is not as good at problem solving and figuring out how things work. They also tend to use intuitive thinking instead of analytical thinking when analytical thinking is necessary.
Intelligence assessments gauge a persons ability to figure out problems and answer questions.
So hypothetically anon, in a world where there is no god, it would make a lot of sense that the less intelligent people have not figured that out and still think gods from the Iron Age created everything
and would the inverse of that not also make sense? a world where god does exist and cant be proven by humans until they experience? a hierarchical structure in plato's cave forming with the 'smart' people providing the best explanation of the moving objects?
direct exposure to God, a presence of the holy spirit, the activation of a sixth sense, turning your head and Seeing the world for the first time, the blinding of the Light. any of them, however you wish to characterize it. it being something for which is, in essence, knowing something you cannot possibly 'know' without experience. and even then, you, just like someone who left the cave and returned to your circumstance, cannot merely express. you can spend all your life trying to make the others know now what you know, but they cant, not without their own experience. their perception is that of which the shadows on the wall dance, bound to the constructs of their environment. they can conceptualize, even imagine, think to grasp, but they do not know what they cannot know, until their own experience.

And when you had this experience, what was the context and setting?

The shackles where I sat began to rust, and over time, began to wither to dust. Then, one day, they slipped off. When I turned my head, I saw the Light, only for a moment, before I began to squint. Even then, I could not process it. I struggled to see what was before me, but I was curious, and walked towards it. In that moment, I made a seemingly insignificant decision: Ichose to embrace it, rather than return to my more familiar environment, for which made sense. I thought I understood, that I knew of light. The lumination on the wall of the cave cast by a flickering flame, I had had a concept for it. But I did not. I ascended out of the cave and walked for the first time. I began to explore the world, and witnessed marvelous things, like the water and the trees. The light I knew, only helped with my sight. The Light I saw, nourishing every living thing, its warmth radiating. And then came the epiphany: every living thing responded to its touch. It was as if they were dancing to its music. In that moment, something suddenly came over me. I did not will it, but something instinctively came upon me, as if it possessed me. I pressed both hands upon my face, then rolled back my eyes. I was in a state of pure bliss, dancing to its music. And in the next moment, I seperated from it. If it was one second, or one day, I could not tell you, but cast upon me were those still in the cave, I had to show them. But when I returned, they knew not. I was ridiculed and mocked, casually dismissed. For they said: "that's not Light, light is for eyesight."

>"HAHAHAHA WE'RE OUTBREEDING YOU HAHAHAHAA IM NOT SCARED AT ALL HAHAHAA" whines the religious nutter
As if kids of the religious in a largely secular society never stop practicing or stray from the faith.
>but Muslims tho
Muslims stop having kids when they get middle class and stop living in shitholes
>yes I'm an incel, but statistically I shouldn't have to be!
GG m8
lmao the cope in this thread is unreal
see picrel
religion is unironically for dumb low-T people
Forgot pic
based
imagine never hitting puberty and needing sky daddy
Because they're able to sniff out that being non-religious gives you the most opportunities from the higher ups in this world. They're just doing whatever it takes to get ahead and appease their overlords.
>Why do smart people tend to be less religious?
False. Most atheists / nihilists are the dumbest people you could ever meet. 99.99% of the smartest people in history believed in God.
literal moron cope
Have you seen God?
My IQ was tested last month: 130. I usually feel stupid, so either 130 isn't smart or most people are moronic subhuman pigs. I feel like I barely qualify as a human being, so that's frightening. Maybe you only become a real person 120+ haha
Faith is belief in something you can't prove and atheism is the disbelief in something you can't disprove. I consider the whole question "above my pay grade", although I hate atheists and like Christian breeders. Maybe a genius will know?
A lack of modesty is usually a sign of low intelligence, mr "Smartguy"
I either feel like a stupid loser or a special, misunderstood overman. I hate 90% of people, including me, and feel unworthy of the rest. I don't think I'm smart, idk why I scored high on the test.
>idk why I scored high on the test
I'm like honors student smart, I can dip into the pig collective conscious to get along but I'm aware of more powers and forces under the hood
God I sound like such a jerkoff
intelligence itself is a social construct invented by humans and only means something to us.
Next time you criticize something, try doing a little research first.
yeah like I'd really roll in here bragging about my librarian/pharmacist level IQ. the point is that's it's a fresh IQ score with the opinions on religion that go with it
Newsflash: your IQ doesn't dictate your entire worldview, dumbass.
I know, moron, I'm just sharing an IQ score an accompanying religious opinions for the thread
Before testing I could swear I was a 100 or 105. I didn't know it was an IQ test and fricked up basic algebra on the math part.
Anyway, that's my high IQ take.
Judging a tree by the fruit it bears, I dislike atheism because the new atheists were weasels. I also dislike Christianity's "meek" slave morality, universalism, and globalism. It also does nothing for me emotionally and bores me to tears.
Actual midwit take homie how
Lol if in the year 2022 you believe that the Earth is 6000 years old or that tigers and elephants got on a boat for 180 days, you're dumb.
The evidence demonstrates religcucks have lower IQs than chadtheists and the differences are on the most genetic components of IQ. See Dutton and Kirkegaard's paper.
This always cracks me up from you people.
>evidence is gathered and studies are done. Evidence all points to a particular conclusion
>you enter the room
>nuh uh!
Because a lot of religious people use religion as an excuse to groom children, and rape women or even men.
https://www.christianitytoday.com/ct/2022/may-web-only/southern-baptist-abuse-apocalypse-russell-moore.html
Southern Baptists, Jehova's Witnesses, Catholics, Orthodox israelites, etc. All shield rapists and pedos.
>Because a lot of religious people use religion as an excuse to groom children, and rape women or even men.
Source: Discord trannies
How many Southern Baptist preachers are trannies exactly?
According to tradcaths, every single one of them.
>rape
ok so what
More teachers frick kids then priests do. And they are all trannies. Coincidence?
God only listens to atheists' prayers.
God only answers atheists' prayers.
>Hispanics can be of any race
I just don't understand America
Hispanic ≠ mestizo, brainlet
ok there is no fricking way that bottom one is accurate. half of blacks and one third of whites go to church? i dont think so.
Maybe it's 34% of 52% of 49% of 61% of whites.
>methodists are smarter than catholics on average
~2 points on a 100 scale is not what I'd call significant tbh
Irish Catholics are the smartest actually. American statistics can never be taking at face value.
Lol the average IQ of Ireland is like 98, it's a nation of morons. Considering Catholics in the US are either Irish, Southern Italian/Sicilian and Latin American, it makes sense that most Catholics are dumber than Prots.
>christcuck conflates spirituality for religiosity.
There are no high IQ religious people.
So Heisenberg, Newton, Born, Faraday and Maxwell all didnt have a high IQ? Wow, I honestly didnt know that. Why are you so smart?
>christcuck conflates spirituality with religiosity
Unbelievably based Einstein
I expect nothing else from a israelite
Why do Christians get so upset when israelites don't take their own holy book seriously?
Einstein. Thanks for proving you are a midwit
>christcuck conflates spirituality with religiosity
So you would agree that high IQ people tend to be more spirital than midwits then?
Newton was accused by Leibniz of atheism and undermining church dogma
yeah but in this case the right bell curve is deist and left is christian
ITT:
>No, believing in bearded men in the sky actually makes me smarter.
I swear to God any mention of IQ on this board is poison.
The most likely explanation for this correlation is education, which is also going to negatively correlate with age. Younger people tend to be less religious, and tend to have a higher level of education than past generations.
Most “intelligent” people are also the ones most subjected to the education system staffed massively by marxists
either you've never been to a university, or you think anyone even slightly leftwing is a crypto-marxist.
I went to university. Most teachers were very left wing. A small amount weren’t
So marxism makes people more intelligent
Based
marxism is a midwit ideology that attracts those in the center of the bell curve
>marxism appeals to the average majority of society
Damn...
Cuz we know God is atheist. Goddess also.
The ancient definition of pride needs to be restored-- and of course, refined for the modern ages to incorporate a meaning that doesn't necessarily rely on slavery.
>it needs to be brought back but in a cucked, castrated form that has been sterilised so as to fit my preconceptions and modern anachronisms
you homierdly little lad
>let's go back to enslaving torturing raping and treating others like shit I AM A MANCHILD XDDDD
Establishing a rank of hierarchy in a way that does NOT rely on slavery will only strengthen you, my fellow incel.
>violence... good!
Imagine being pathetic
>intelligence = eradicates intelligence
???
Because the more you think about it the less sense any organized religion makes. Even when smart people have some sort of spiritual belief they are usually heretical to some degree or another.
Also lol, the cope in this thread.
metaphysics is a mind trap.
some of the most intelligent people were very "familiar" with the occult.
religion sets up a bunch of intelligence traps.
if you are talking specufic christianity/judiasm.
they take mercy on the 'meek' and have set up many supports for them.
caveat you gotta go to mass if you want to get outta work on sunday if you in prison or in boot.
you gotta go to mass if you want that hot meal and a dry cot.
you gotta accept jesus/god if you want to recover from your addictions becuase the NA AA meeting is in some sort of church.
i dont know if islam sets up as many hospitals and supported living programs for all the moronic and addicted muslims
the more educated your become, the more difficult it is to trust something that for all intents and purposes doesn't have anything to back it up with, sure it could be right since there isn't any way to prove its false, but at the same time there also isn't anything to prove it right, not helped by the fact that there are so many different religions with even said religions having multiple variations just makes it even more difficult for an educated person to fully commit to, its the equivalent of an absolute stranger stating you are part of a once in a lifetime opportunity so long as you choose a specific category and a specific subset of that category and follow its guidelines
Simple as.
Its not smart people, it's mid wits. Athiesm is on a bell curve, idiots and geniuses believe in God and midwits believe in nothing.
Mid wit meme is just cope for one believing they're smart but also trying to justify why they believe the exact same shit as society's dumbest rubes
>the study always stops at around 120 IQ or lower
lol midwit tier fr fr
Because they live in the city and city people tend to not be religious
You want smart people that believe in God, put them in farms like Chris Langan and let them live truly independently and they will think about God all the time.
Now use that brain of yours to listen to this, and do not be arrogant like satan was during the creation of Adam (pbuh)
I love when Christians post this because they never read the study or couldn’t understand it.
The medial frontal cortex regulates fear and the study design was based around seeing how people’s belief changes when you shut down their fear response, in this case of death specifically.
Turns out a lot of you believe in god and religion because you’re afraid to die.
If this was true, why would Christians willingfully endure matyrdom?
A. Almost none of you do that
B. The ones who do think they don’t actually die.
God is a coping mechanism for fear of death that tricks you into thinking you’ll live forever.
So basically, they're not afraid of dying because they're afraid of dying? Or...something?
Anon. Your dishonestly is so astounding. I'm...speechless. I have no idea how you can recover from this except to cut your losses.
>people who don't think their existence ends with death don't fear the end of their existence
Come on buddy. Even you can figure it out.
Yes, I can. People who are afraid to die try to avoid putting themselves in dangerous situations. Do you want me to explain this in greater detail? Because I literally can't, it is that simple.
I guess I overestimated you. To the cuckstian death is just temporary. That's how he copes with the fear of death and this cope leads to a reduced fear of death ffs.
>christcuck reading comprehension/conceptualisation
Christoids are afraid of the idea of nothingness and nonexistence after death, so they instead cope with the idea of the afterlife, eternal bliss, pearly white gates and so on, and thereby become less afraid of death.
Idiot.
That's catgay. He already did, but instead of conceding a defeat and moving on, he entered gotcha mode as he can't recover.
Yes catcuck Christians think they go to heaven forever at death
>calls other people dishonest while failing to interpret 4th grade level english because the conclusions drawn make him uncomfortable
Catcuck’s mental decline is one of my favorite things about Oyish
>A
>B
Fricking moron.
Absolutely false
Nice counterargument there pal
Because they think they will go to space disneyland if they die for israelites.
No one recently has been martyred for their faith outside of Muslim countries where they just lynch Christians
Most of them weren't happy to die, you just think they are because because you are reading propaganda from their fellow zealot pals
And you aren't exactly interfacing with reality if you think you get to live on a fluffy cloud with Jebus when you shed your mortal coil, and thus do not get to die
>100% investment into ludicrous belief makes it real
Wtf bros are Martians real???
UFO probe rape survivors genuinely believe they got kidnapped and fricked by alien babes!!! It makes it true!
>scientists switch off parts of the brain responsible for the fear emotion
>person becomes less religious
Really makes you think.
Intelligence is a scam anyway. A chad religious zealot will most often than not win a fight to the death with a rationalist atheist queer. This is the main reasons atheists are often pacifists
complete horseshit the secular world drops bombs on zealots every week, and has for quite some time now
without intelligence at some point you'd never be writing this post and id never be doing the same. intelligence is literally the only thing that matters for modern humans, once you have made strength defunct with tech that can supplement the role of the organic to a monstrous degree, you have completely changed the entire system. a dumbass zealot can feel mighty until the intelligent nerd drone strikes him from across the world.
>What religion would an intelligent person even believe in though
Cosmicism and Christian transhumanism.
http://saj.matf.bg.ac.rs/159/pdf/105-109.pdf
>christian
nope
>who will win: a comparatory scientific text with rich collection of footnotes and vast bibliography or a Oyish shitposter
This thread is a pretty accurate rundown on zoomer atheism.
Why have christcuck transhumanism when you can simply have transhumanism?
Transhumanisn is a logical conclusion of the tenets of the holy Catholic faith. Where Catholic see "holy Trinity", transhumanists see one Universe being particles, waves and laws of nature, where Catholics see immortality, transhumanists see quantum immortality, where Catholics see healing, transhumanists see nanomachines, where Catholics see resurrection, transhumanists see upload of consciousness to a Singilarity. Catholicism and transhumanism are one and the same. Further reading:
>Charles Hartshorne
>John B. Cobb
>fr. Pierre Teilhard de Chardin

>Transhumanism would be stripped
>be stolen from Orthodox and Catholic and ohilosophers
>be mutilated and castrated to fit with contemporary materialism
It's like stealing moral principles and saying it's objective.
So much for "made in the image of god".
>made in the image of god
We're made of atoms and information, so it's self-evident God must be the same.
>self-evident
It stands to reason that if God made everything then he must somehow transcend the thing he made. How else would he exist without something being around to make him? God would have to operate on something unknown to be capable of emerging from nothingness.
"Nothingness" doesn't exist by definition, so there never was anything like "nothing" because then "nothing" would be "something". Read monists.
deism
gottgläubig
It really is sort of the castaway Wilson thing. They’re just terrified and screaming at reality to be their friend.
yes but there is no reason to be afraid or panicked. human beings scream at ghosts, imaginary concepts they invent in their minds and then impose upon themselves. the world is very peaceful and very simple, but people complicate it for literally no reason, other than perhaps their human brains being problem solving tools, and without a real tangible "problem" to solve, it creates some lest it atrophies
If you're smart the answer would be obvious
100-120 critical minded atheist
120-140 hypercritical jibbering wrecks
140- logical foundation in religion
That’s not what the data showed. It wasn’t a bimodal distribution.
I know like 10 of you have already posted what you just said and I just want you all to know that you’re white knuckle coping right now.
You believe in gods because you’re foolish and afraid to die
Ad hom that could be recursively used as a condemnation against you. You're probably projecting.
It wasn’t a bimodal distribution, I don’t know what to tell you guys. The midwit religion m meme is from ms paint drawings on Oyish.
We’re talking about the aggregate data of nearly 100 studies all over the globe, not wojak drawings.
The difficulty you’re having in comprehending this adds another data point
>my anecdotal experience talking to you specfically is a data point
Anon, nobody cares. If you recounted this experience to me in any other situation, I would never care.
Because you're butthurt anon. That's ok. It's fine to be upset when you lose.
We’re talking about nearly 100 studies and you’re only addressing my jab at you for not understanding what we’re talking about.
Like the another anon said you’re just being a sore loser.
Like the people here will magically admit they were wrong and change their ways... If anything, arguing with them just cements their beliefs further. It's something they have to overcome themselves like "God" abandoning them in a serious time of need (inb4 it was a test bro).
I dunno why people assume no one here ever changes their minds.
I've had my mind changed on a lot because of argumentation I saw here convincing me of its veracity
>WOW IS DAT LE BASED SUPER DUPER KEKPILLED GENIUSRINO SAME AS DUMB MAN!?!??!?! GOING IN MY BASED FOLDER FREN!!!!
No you're a fricking idiot. Bronze age sky wizards aren't real
White people are less religious and White people tend to be smarter.
Because they can notice logical contradictions quickly
Yes, the study also brought these two reasons up,
>intelligent people tend to adopt an analytic (as opposed to intuitive) thinking style, which has been shown to undermine religious beliefs. Third, several functions of religiosity, including compensatory control, self-regulation, self-enhancement, and secure attachment, are also conferred by intelligence. Intelligent people may therefore have less need for religious beliefs and practices.
Because it's very easy to call people dumb to make them do what you want them to do, children do it all the time. However, to convince me, you'd need more and better arguments than what children produce.
It's an ok tactic for halfwits, but I consider myself better than that.
1 Corinthians 1:27
Romans 1:22
Psalms 14:1
>thinking the world organic in organic life means anything but carbon
LOL, read a biochem book homosexual.
That post didn't even have "organic" in it. Life doesn't come from nonlife. Stop coping so hard.
>conflating abiogenesis with biological evolution
>trying to calculate probability when we do not even know how large the universe is
>before we knew organic compounds, amino acids and proteins are naturally occurring on space rocks
>before we even know what the process was
Lol GTFO
>trying to calculate probability when we do not even know how large the universe is
...What? The universe being large does not make statistical analysis impossible...
I cannot make this any more clear for you.
who are you quoting?
You.
The theory now is that it happened in oceanic vents.
A) Religions don't tend to make sense in light of logic.
B) More intelligent people tend to be wealthier, hence less likely to need an emotional crutch.
>More intelligent people tend to be wealthier, hence less likely to need an emotional crutch.
Have you ever even met a wealthy person before?
you know what has a much stronger correlation for intelligence?
Income.
Which is also negatively correlated with religiosity
Point and case
Income and IQ are correlated strongly, at least in Western socities.
These threads are just a way for raging heathens to vent btw. None of them are really interested in a discussion.
I bet every dollar I don't have that Jains outperform atheists and all other groups.
Threadly reminder that Christians are more educated on average than atheists.
The only exception to this rule are places like Europe and America, which have declining birthrates and actually in deep cultural death-spirals for other non-related reasons.
Intelligent people are always occultists.
Funny how it isn't mentioned in these kinds of stats.
For occultists, hermeticists etc. What happens after death is a mystery.
If you ask them what happens after you die they will say: we don't know. We have some theories but none of us have the direct experience.
>Aim of religion. Method of science
Being agnostic is the only logical position. There is no absolute proof God exists and there is no absolute proof God doesn't exist.
Agnosticism is the most absurd possible position you could take.
Please provide absolute proof God exists or that he doesn't. I'll wait till you are dead because you can't.
Explain.
Why can I know so many other things, except whether or not a god can exist?
Why is knowledge possible at all, except for that specific knowledge? It seems almost convieenient to me.
Ironically, the journal article is designed to flatter low iq people who think you can determine the magnitude of a correlation from a meta-analysis.
They didn’t mention the magnitude anon. It just says that intelligence negatively correlated with religiosity, which is true across nearly 100 studies
Of course anon, I didn’t claim they were lying. I claimed the headline is designed to make low iq atheists think the latest meta study suggests the magnitude is large. Which is what made OP so excited.
I don’t think the difference being large is implied.
It is strong evidence for a negative correlation between intelligence and religiosity, didn’t say the difference was huge.
Because our current society rewards and promotes you for being an atheist. You'd have to be stupid not to see this or exploit it.
In academia sure, but if you want to go into politics you have to at least pretend to be religious.
Dunno, shit seems made up by the liberals
Close-minded people tend to be less intelligent.
Midwits are anti-Christian. Dumb people and extremely smart people are Christian.
I'm literally Zizek when I have no time (0 minutes left) between assays
Dumb people are more likely to believe in invisible sky wizards, talking snakes, virgin births and magic israelites. A chadtheist is just going to say that's bullshit and you're a dumbass for believing that.
Cuckstain cope is always good for a laugh. It was all over for cuckstainanity once they could no longer force people to believe their israelite shit.
>Blacks are more religious
>Religious have lower T
Explain this right now.
Atheism belongs to the midwit.
>smart people share my traits
>dumb people share your traits
>people I like= good
>people I don't like = bad
That's basically the bottom line of all of these studies tbh. It doesn't matter if it's rightoids trying to prove blacks are moronic or leftoids trying to prove religious prove Christians are moronic. Somebody's making their own personal statement and you should instinctively distrust them even if your politics incline you toward agreeing with them.
Because when you tell a smart person that they should believe in talking snakes, unverifiable miracles, and an afterlife with entrance rules determined by bronze age savages... well they just sort of don't take it seriously.
yeah autists have a hard time with allegory
>MUH METAPHOR
This is to justify your suspension of disbelief because at heart you're a modern materialist coping. Literally no one but fringe occultists and esoteric cults ever thought the Bible wasn't the actual history of mankind.
Spiritual but not religious is the true big brain option
well first, how does one define 'smart'? who defined it? smart people? what is smart? intelligent? wise? both? wise > smart, at least until the smart become wise
to answer your question though, its because they are inherently separate and competing skillsets. But they do not have to be. Plato (in the Republic) described the two as the visible and the intellectual (which makes things confusing regarding your question. But, essentially, its the separate ways for which we obtain understanding. The visible, aka our five senses; the intellectual, the way in which we attempt to make sense of the visible and what it does and does not tell us about something
>You have to imagine, then, that there are two ruling powers, and that one of them is set over the intellectual world, the other over the visible.
he believed that the intellectual are the things that must be learned via philosophizing and dialectics and that the ascertainment of the purest form of Good is contingent on a systemization of established principles, like how we learn math; established concepts like pi, being the product of a continuity of previous peoples questions asked, pursued, and answered
the problem, however, is that God is something you cannot simplify or quantify to someone else using words. the idea of God, and the conceptualization can be taught, but to actually know God, requires ones own personal experience to understand.
Intelligence is the ability to figure things out.
What experience?
direct exposure to God, a presence of the holy spirit, the activation of a sixth sense, turning your head and Seeing the world for the first time, the blinding of the Light. any of them, however you wish to characterize it. it being something for which is, in essence, knowing something you cannot possibly 'know' without experience. and even then, you, just like someone who left the cave and returned to your circumstance, cannot merely express. you can spend all your life trying to make the others know now what you know, but they cant, not without their own experience. their perception is that of which the shadows on the wall dance, bound to the constructs of their environment. they can conceptualize, even imagine, think to grasp, but they do not know what they cannot know, until their own experience.
I knew you weren’t going to answer and instead take a jab at poetry. You people are so predictable.
It was probably psychological anon, and I wouldn’t be at all surprised to find out you did psychedelics and thought you met Jesus.
But see, Anon, you are missing the point. It was a unique experience. You could not possibly comprehend it. I am not here to convince you. I am here to prepare you.
It’s funny because I didn’t even ask you to describe the experience, I just asked you what the context and setting was, and you are too embarrassed to say. You will continue to dodge and not answer.
it was never about me anon
You are continuing to not say what you were doing and what type of place you were when you had this experience.
You will continue to not answer because it reveals you as not wise or intelligent.
Anon I know, I’m here to demonstrate that you won’t give your answer because you know it’s dumb.
see
That’s great anon, now what type of place were you in and what were you doing when you had this experience?
It was a place identical to this. What was I doing? Trying to make sense of it. We all had legs, but could not use them? We were restricted, confined and forced to sit? Then what was their purpose? Why would I have them, if not to use them? And why would I think to think they were in my possession, that I had them for a reason? For one day the man sitting next to meet stood up.
and how do you quantify or judge intelligence unless you actually know that person, their acts? an iq test, which is nothing more than a gauge of pattern recognition. see
I don’t know what significance you’re attaching to the linked image
I always see this images as:
>i got too tired to find answers so i gave up and got back at the beggining
Autism
Hitler is the antithesis to literally everything else in that collage
same
Atheists are better at IQ tests. That doesn't mean they're smarter.
so much asshurt
it's incredible that basically 80 percent of the population believes in an invisible man and a magic book
why not, what do you gain being an insufferable homosexual?
what do you gain by holding us back with a stone age belief
Eternal life, duh
Religcucks are the ultimate NPC. Religion is an evolutionary adaptation to keep the less intelligent in line.
Atheists just like to troll harder.
So holy
Muslims don't worship the building in your pic, you think they do because you're the type of moron who would actually worship it and you think everyone else is like you.
It's not that smart people are less religious, it's just that dumb people are the ones who shape mainstream religion.
You don't look like the guy on the right
But you definitely look like the guy on the left 😉
The majority of smart people are midwits.
