Not OP but the implication is that if necessary, these people would harm others to benefit themselves. If God told people to torture others just to get into heaven, then that is what they would do. Jesus tells us to do good without expecting a reward, which is kinda silly since he’s always talking about heaven, like that’s the whole point. But ideally you would be good to others regardless of the circumstances, because this means that your goodness cannot be taken away.

do good without expecting a reward
is different from
do good without there being a reward
>Jesus tells us to do good without expecting a reward
No he doesn't. He says to seek rewards from God rather than other people because God's rewards are better.
he literally says to not expect a reward, and you will get a reward lol
Yeah, see >your Father will reward you
Oops, looks like chatGPT is moronic after all. Here’s the actual verse
I've read the NT parables and they all seem to suggest the more you do in this life the more you do in the next life. Jesus also says to expect what you lost for following Him given to you back 100fold.
Evil people act selfishly, while good people act altruistically. Altruism ultimately serves the interests of others, while selfishness, or egoism, ultimately serves self-interest. Religious people perform acts of altruism to go to heaven. so it's ultimately self-interested and not altruistic after all.
What do you mean? Do you think evil people act altruistically, or that good people act selfishly. Both are obviously false.

>Do you think evil people act altruistically
Sometimes, yeah, at least they believe they are. Like Nazis thinking they were doing everything for the benefit of the German people.
>or that good people act selfishly
Yes, because virtue is essential to the pursuit of happiness. Prudence, temperance, discipline, and courage obviously useful for self-interest. Misanthropes are miserable, while being loving and kind is obviously way better for you on an emotional level, not to mention the social benefits. And acting with justice and integrity if nothing else allows you to maintain a sense of pride, which is vital, again not to mention social benefits that usually outweight the costs.

And nazis thought they were germans, so ultimately they were doing everything for the benefit of themselves.
Why didn’t God just make it so that every human has the chance to reject the fruit? How come Eve’s bad decision led to humans having desires for murder, rape, theft, buttsex, etc.? That makes no sense.

if evolution is true, then that means we can evolve to become superhumans and create our own paradise that God failed to do.

What makes you think God has failed to create paradise?

Today I saw a video of Africans beating an old lady and forcing her to dig her own grave because they are convinced she is a witch. I could list millions of examples of worse tragedies. This isn’t just a matter of free will. God has deliberately designed humans to be much dumber and much more cruel than necessary. The fact that some humans are clearly genetically predisposed to not be as awful means that God could have done this for everyone, and even made them better. So why the frick didn’t he? Now tell my why I shouldn’t believe in evolution instead.

Humans have been barred from paradise, but we are able to attain to a foretaste of it in the Eucharist.

It's an internal critique. Did god create eve knowing she would frick it up or is god not omniscient?
this relies on "acting in your own self interest makes a person not good"
burden of proof is on you

that’s literally what it says though lol

No he doesn't. He says to seek rewards from God rather than other people because God's rewards are better.
Yeah, see
>your Father will reward you
>your reward will be great
> He says to seek forgiveness from God
Fixt that for you
forgiveness = reward in this context.
Seems like a logical thing to seek then from an almighty all-good God

That’s good, because I’ve lost a lot of money.

What proof? Morality is axiomatic, he can define "good" to mean whatever the frick he wants.
yes OP christcucks are moronic everyone knows that
/thread
>oh? you don't want to be a murderer because it's evil? sounds like you're just afraid of jail. you're just as bad.
>muh strawmanning and wordsalading disproves le you!!!!
christcucks cannot into argument
Sure you must be some sort of divinity if you're so above others you can judge them all
Christ has the power to make men good unironically.
Can god create a world with free will and without, or does christ not have the power to make men good after all.
> Can god create a world with free will and without
And without suffering? That’s exactly what He’s doing
No, without evil.
he did though but Eve fricked that up
so he didn't and can't
so again he did, it was eden
Then whence come evil?
eve eating the apple
So god isn't the cause of all things after all.

I accept your concession
Christ is the only way to heaven. If you trust in your works you are headed to damnation.
Sacramental theology is not “trusting in your works”
Orthodox dont believe this.
Only saints go to heaven.
We do good because its a good charism on us and our people.
Guys I am literally shitting and farting
