this relies on "acting in your own self interest makes a person not good"

burden of proof is on you

Not OP but the implication is that if necessary, these people would harm others to benefit themselves. If God told people to torture others just to get into heaven, then that is what they would do. Jesus tells us to do good without expecting a reward, which is kinda silly since he’s always talking about heaven, like that’s the whole point. But ideally you would be good to others regardless of the circumstances, because this means that your goodness cannot be taken away.

No he doesn't. He says to seek rewards from God rather than other people because God's rewards are better.

I've read the NT parables and they all seem to suggest the more you do in this life the more you do in the next life. Jesus also says to expect what you lost for following Him given to you back 100fold.

Evil people act selfishly, while good people act altruistically. Altruism ultimately serves the interests of others, while selfishness, or egoism, ultimately serves self-interest. Religious people perform acts of altruism to go to heaven. so it's ultimately self-interested and not altruistic after all.

What do you mean? Do you think evil people act altruistically, or that good people act selfishly. Both are obviously false.

            >Do you think evil people act altruistically
Sometimes, yeah, at least they believe they are. Like Nazis thinking they were doing everything for the benefit of the German people.

            >or that good people act selfishly
Yes, because virtue is essential to the pursuit of happiness. Prudence, temperance, discipline, and courage obviously useful for self-interest. Misanthropes are miserable, while being loving and kind is obviously way better for you on an emotional level, not to mention the social benefits. And acting with justice and integrity if nothing else allows you to maintain a sense of pride, which is vital, again not to mention social benefits that usually outweight the costs.

And nazis thought they were germans, so ultimately they were doing everything for the benefit of themselves.

if evolution is true, then that means we can evolve to become superhumans and create our own paradise that God failed to do.

What makes you think God has failed to create paradise?

Today I saw a video of Africans beating an old lady and forcing her to dig her own grave because they are convinced she is a witch. I could list millions of examples of worse tragedies. This isn’t just a matter of free will. God has deliberately designed humans to be much dumber and much more cruel than necessary. The fact that some humans are clearly genetically predisposed to not be as awful means that God could have done this for everyone, and even made them better. So why the frick didn’t he? Now tell my why I shouldn’t believe in evolution instead.

Humans have been barred from paradise, but we are able to attain to a foretaste of it in the Eucharist.
