    >antipope
That’s the pope. Catholicism is not biblical literalism, it’s a monarchy and the pope is the king. If you don’t like it then you’re not Catholic by definition, get out.

the pope isn't the king, kings are supposed to be subordinate to him. it comes from the roman pontifex, which was only one aspect of the augustus

Cope. Catholicism has survived much worse popes anyway. An excommunication from a corrupt pontiff means nothing.

It’s not your role to determine whether the pope is corrupt or not. You’re Catholic, you obey. If you think that sucks or that’s not fair, you shouldn’t have picked a religion and specific religious sect where those are the rules.

I’m a confirmed Catholic unlike many of you and those are the rules if you want to be Catholic. If you were a logical person you would either leave the church or obey the pope.
Better yet, if you were a logical person you wouldn’t seethe at two gay strangers getting married.
Seething about gays, pretending you’re Catholic when you’re not and remaining in the church is three moronic moves.

It changes every year, doesn’t it?

And you’re wrong. I strongly suggest you read this, especially chapters 2 and 3. Do not be a Papist.

          >it's not your role
I beg to differ. I am but an instrument of God, and it is God's will that I die Catholic regardless on who the Bishop of Rome is. subverters can cope and seethe, they have failed before, they will fail again.

I don’t know how to make this any simpler for you, if you don’t obey the pope or respect his rulings then you are not Catholic. If it’s gods will that you remain Catholic then it would be God’s will that you obey the pope. Plus, you can get married in the church now.

You're the one not getting it. I do what God commands, I do not listen to a sinner if he is leading me astray. This goes for ~~*you*~~ as well as the current pope.

Ok and? I don't really believe in astrology, although I cannot be sure some astrologers were not inspired by God (the ones who were proven right). Astrology as a discipline is wholly unscientific but there are so many things unexplained by science.

            >"The believer can still have erroneous opinions since all his thoughts do not spring from faith. Not all the ideas which circulate among the People of God are compatible with the faith. “ e sensus fidei as an instinct of faith

            49. The sensus fidei fidelis is a sort of spiritual instinct that enables the believer to judge spontaneously whether a particular teaching or practice is or is not in conformity with the Gospel and with apostolic faith. It is intrinsically linked to the virtue of faith itself; it flows from, and is a property of, faith.[62] It is compared to an instinct because it is not primarily the result of rational deliberation, but is rather a form of spontaneous and natural knowledge, a sort of perception (aisthesis).”

            And:

“ 123. Problems arise when the majority of the faithful remain indifferent to doctrinal or moral decisions taken by the magisterium or when they positively reject them. This lack of reception may indicate a weakness or a lack of faith on the part of the people of God, caused by an insufficiently critical embrace of contemporary culture. But in some cases it may indicate that certain decisions have been taken by those in authority without due consideration of the experience and the sensus fidei of the faithful, or without sufficient consultation of the faithful by the magisterium.[137]”

    >ROME (AP) — Pope Francis has formally approved allowing priests to bless same-sex couples, with a new document explaining a radical change in Vatican policy by insisting that people seeking God’s love and mercy shouldn’t be subject to “an exhaustive moral analysis” to receive it.
    >The document from the Vatican’s doctrine office, released Monday, elaborates on a letter Francis sent to two conservative cardinals that was published in October. In that preliminary response, Francis suggested such blessings could be offered under some circumstances if they didn’t confuse the ritual with the sacrament of marriage.
    >The new document repeats that condition and elaborates on it, reaffirming that marriage is a lifelong sacrament between a man and a woman. And it stresses that blessings in question must be non-liturgical in nature and should not be conferred at the same time as a civil union, using set rituals or even with the clothing and gestures that belong in a wedding.
    >But it says requests for such blessings for same-sex couples should not be denied full stop. It offers an extensive and broad definition of the term “blessing” in Scripture to insist that people seeking a transcendent relationship with God and looking for his love and mercy should not be subject to “an exhaustive moral analysis” as a precondition for receiving it.

Oh, so nothing changed. Thanks for the useless twixxer screencap thread.

Did you know that a Catholic priest will also bless a Muslim, Atheist, Protestant, Hindu, or israelite if they go up to the alter during Mass!

And it's been like this forever!

Hmm, it's almost like blessings and offering the sacraments are different. IDK.

Yet Elohim constantly tells his people to not associate with other religious cultures so they dont get tempted to follow their traditions and worship their gods or accidentally eat meat that was sacrificed to other gods.

      >Claims to be the chosen home of the God of Israel.
      >It is not located in Israel.
      >It is not in Jerusalem, his favorite place in the whole earth.
      >It does not teach his laws.
      >It is not run by his Levite priests.
      >It does not do the daily sacrifices.
      >It does not observe the holy Sabbath.
      >It is full of idols inside and all around.
      >There's a literal Asherah pole right in front of the place.
      >Claims a man born from a woman is equal to the Holy Elohim.
      >Wants you to eat his flesh and drink his blood.

ITT, people who don’t know the difference between blessing a person and having a pope who doesn’t want to touch their sinful relationship with a 50 foot pole.
This pope loves the grey areas. He doesn’t really understand his office well imo, but he doesn’t even approach anti-pope territory.

it's all larping at this point. i was baptized and confirmed because one of my parents wanted to appease their parents, and i retained nothing. i had to do my own research on it and at this point it's history more than anything, although i disagree with all the christian iconoclasm purely due to its historical value if nothing else
