In other words, if God exiss, he exists only in a metaphysical way, meaning you're not religious if you believe this, at best you're agnostic.

Seriously think about this, what is God if you believe he has no bearing on reality aside from being some metaphysical prime mover at best and at worst is just a passive observer. What is God in that case? He might as well not exist at all. At best you're agnostic.
Might as well ask what God is without idols and temples. Polytheism and animism are the only true religions because they grant gods power to deny things to secular rulers. Any divine interference with materialism is inherently dangerous, so this was taken away by monotheism. Monotheism is one step away from atheism.
