Being an atheist requires believing in the magical miracle of the big bang when nothing exploded into everything for no reason and believing that magical wizard lightening shot into life goop and created entropy fighting self replicating complexity enhancing microbial life which branched into mycelium, athopods, plants, mollusks, vertibrates all for absolutely no reason because the great and mighty hero Time slayed downs syndrome and allowed entire chromosomal mutations to still successfully engage in meiosis

The Big Bang is a pseudoscientific theory to add a material veneer on the genesis myth. They’re the same story. Big Bang was first proposed by a Jesuit priest. Look it up. It’s not even a secret.

Buddhism rejects the idea of learning to embrace your shadow and is completely parasitic in nature. Monks are neet parasites who do and contribute nothing. In hinduism, when asked why we must fight and kill one another if we are all pieces of God, Krishna says, "lol. Lmao you just have to bro have fun with it"

Atheism is embarassing because of the hubris of acting like you know what the frick is going on when we can't even explain evolution let alone consciousness. It's just an act of humility to at least prostrate yourself to a god of the gaps.

            >f learning to embrace your shadow

Modern social problem, has nothing to do with the religion itself, it's the same as how most christians are actively satan worshippers in day to day life.

            >In hinduism, when asked why we must fight and kill one another if we are all pieces of God, Krishna says, "lol. Lmao you just have to bro have fun with it"

for what reason is this superior to buddhism? you haven't given a reason, you just restated what you think the perspectives are. I asked Why.

            >Atheism is embarassing because of the hubris of acting like you know what the frick is going on

Hm? It's the opposite. Religious people assume complete knowledge of the universe and creation. Atheists are forced to look for answers through science, always changing.

I have always criticized the religious for this-- The Christian says "I know the origin of the universe, man, Earth and life. I know all things. In this way, I am God."

The religious man appoints himself God-- religion is the ultimate hubris.

I'd like you to intellectually respond to that if you can. How is always knowing the answers not hubristic, while constantly seeking them is hubristic?

            >Atheists are forced to look for answers through science, always changing.
Worshiping the baconian method is moronic. It fails the moment something is immeasurable or unrepeatable. Read some joseph campbell if you want an easy intro to appreciating mythology. Try the power of myth or myths to live by. Not knowing about the concept of the jungian shadow as an adult is not forgivable. The concept is in the cracks of ethics. Essentially it is the evil you are capable of- say if your child is threatened. Could you slit the throat of the man threatening your child? If no then you are undeveloped in your "shadow". You can call it whatever but that's what people like in amoral characters in stories(as opposed to immoral).

            >d. It fails the moment something is immeasurable or unrepeatable
That’s science for you. No fixed solution, only testable hypotheses. The next step is examining why an experiment failed, and continuing until the answer is measurable and repeatable. Have you made it out of junior high school?

Uhh, pretty much, yeah. What we do now isn't science. We don't even record negative results. It's all a money circle jerk.

Seriously. I wanted to be a scientist when I was a kid and for my entire life really...Until now...I could tell you everything wrong with formal "science".

A true scientist is now considered a radical thinker and would have to operate outside of accepted/legal structures. We are back at the frontier.

            Anonymous

all this is true, but the corollary of most supposedly rationalist arguments, when they try to elevate their idea of science above spiritual thinking, is that they hark towards a fictitious time of purer science and superior method. This never existed. Newton was an alchemist. Galileo was a bullshitter. Giordano Bruno wrote books on magic. They were all at the mercy of institutional vested interest. A true 'scientific' mindset has always been an outsider, yet one who requires institutional allies in order for their research to benefit society, and those allies are impossible to make except by using supra-scientific means.

I am the most stringent scientific thinker of anyone I have ever known. I am also pretty sure we are in a simulation or are a holographic projection of some higher-dimensional structure. We could literally be a thought, or a weak nuclear reaction.

I have arrived at the conclusion that it is impossible to reach these conclusions using "science".

A pure "Scientific thinker" is, hence, not a scientific thinker. They are drones. They are preventing progress.

The only place in my town that required a mask was the post office and the church. Please show me the religious institutions that were fighting the vaccine. Not randos on YouTube. The official spokespeople for an institution.

            institutionalised religion is trash
admitting that it's on the same level of trash as institutionalised science does not work out very well for science. 1000s of doctors, researchers, politicians and companies immediately lose all their social power once you admit they're on the same level as a forgotten old catholic church one the corner of the street.

So you’re acquiescing to my point? No institutional religion came out against the vax. Thousands of individual scientists did come out against the vax. The Great Barrington declaration. Many of which lost their jobs because of it.

            >No institutional religion came out against the vax. Thousands of individual scientists did come out against the vax
            >institutions
            >individuals
weirdly unscientific double standard you cooked up here. remember when you said 'randos on youtube' doesn't pass as evidence of resistance to dogma? Precisely the reason I was happy to zero in on institutions specifically.
sorry but as much as I like the work of Jessica Rose, Peter McCullough, JJ Coeuy and whoever, they are very much randos. They don't even have as much institutional weight as, eg. the getout clause many normies were able to exploit by claiming a religious exemption to the vax.
            >The official spokespeople for an institution.
what institution are ANY of the great barrington signatories the official spokespeople for, and do any of those institutions happen to be as insignificant as, say, Artur Pawvlowski's church in canada?

You're right! Those images correlate with the rise of evangelical "Christianity" as the preferred mode in America. Evangelical christianity has about 5000000x the political power and visibility of atheism

        good thing you recognized this.

So why do the images correlate with atheists (fewer people, little political power) rather than evangelical christians (tens of millions of highly visible boomers, wealthy, heavy political power)?

Explain it. If you can, despite your genetic handicap.

            It's really simple my friend!
Christianity in general is highly on the decline, as well as how much people actually follow the doctrine!
Since you know, one thing is to say "I am totes a Christian" and another is actually go to church, pray, believe the commandments, and so on

Ah, the very expected misuse of the Scotsman Fallacy
You see my fellow golem, just saying you are something does not make you something! The point of the fallacy is to illustrate that when you actually fall into a certain group by virtue of your actions, being labeled as "false member" unreasonably is incorrect!
But you wouldn't know that, just like you don't know that "correlation does not equal causation" was originally used to describe a situation where no plausible rationalization for a correlation could be found, i.e. DiCaprio movies per amount of car crashes. That is, until redditors such as you started using it to dismiss ALL correlations, like a bunch of midwits you are 🙂

Name the legitimate Christians. I take them all at face value. If someone calls themselves a Christian that’s good enough for me to say they’re a Christian. You however, I’m certain, are not as inclusive in your definition.

            > Name the legitimate Christians.
People who aside from the self identification (which tbh, is already a great stat. correlator of being less degenerate), go to church, pray at least occasionally, and honestly try to live by the commandments, even if not perfectly successful

ok the only legitimate atheists then are racist ones because that's where science leads a thinking man

arguing against spanish people is fish in a barrel honestly

Except the only description of atheism is not believing in an existence of the divine. Nowhere does it include the obligation of being racist, homophobic, etc etc.
Besides, even if we just went by self-identification as the only requirement to be a Christian, I still win in pretty much every situation 🙂

right but those people identify as christians. they're the evangelical christians.

are you saying christians don't count as christians if they aren't good christians? well, sure, if god was watching

but we're talking about census statistics here, and they count as christians on paper, they identify as christians so they are christians.

What a thing is is the reality of that thing as well as the essence. They can't be dissimilated.

Hey, how come your people have 40+ million citizens but you don't invent anything, don't craft any biomedical or technical advances, don't have any aerospace or technology companies, and don't appear on the worldwide top university rankings, by any body, in the top 150?

Just curious what your people do. In fact, you haven't contributed any significant inventions to the world in 200 years. Can you name one?

            I did not think so.
