meh, it doesnt make sense you're right but i think this is the case
though i think the roman view of gods not giving a shit about you unless you become a great man and get their attention somehow would have been better for society than the current slobbery we have now where people just pray and call it a day, i really think it would have encouraged a more proactive attitude towards life

Read the Bible before forming opinions. You don't actually understand what you're talking about. Christ's sacrifice doesn't mean you have nothing to do. There is more to do than you can do, and more refining than you can ever accomplish - indeed YOU WILL NOT ACCOMPLISH IT. WHATSOEVER IS ACCOMPLISHED, THE HOLY SPIRIT OF THE LIVING GOD AT WORK IN YOU WILL ACCOMPLISH IT!

Being a Christian means working subordinated to God, thus gaining infinite potential effectiveness. While you, self-worshipping sensualites practicing your monkhoods and sorceries - slaves to your lusts - will work your entire lives and be capable of less than a brand new convert to Christ. Unironically. Repent. Seek the Lord. See for yourself.

If you did, it went in one ear and out the other. It has nothing to do with you not liking it, and everything to do with your take on Christianity. It's a literally impossible take for anyone who is well-read in the Word to have. I read the Word nearly everyday. I've read the entire Bible probably more than once, and some books probably thirty or more times. That is how I know.

I know you expected that insult to hurt, but it doesn't. I was a Shingon Buddhist for eight years of serious practice before I became a Christian. I can read Latin, and have read more occult texts than 99% of the people on this board. I am fluent in Japanese and have extensive knowledge of Japanese myth and Heian era court poetry. I was well read in the Irish mythos by the time I was 15. I was well read in the Native American mythos by the time I was 9. I know very well about reading without believing. For every shallow insult based on your ignorant assumptions you heap on me, you gain me glory in the Kingdom of God. I would not care were you to take my head off with a dull sword, for you would merely gain me a priesthood in the Eternal Kingdom of My Father! I serve the Lord because He is God! It is that simple. Either you will kneel before Christ willingly, in this life, or you will kneel unwillingly in the next.

You're not entertaining yourself, the demon in you cannot let you rest because of Christ. Anytime someone is held under the sway of irrational negative behaviors like yours - or even things like chronic depression or fear - they are likely possessed. And you no doubt already know deep down, for all men have a spirit, and all men known God is who He says He is. That's why you froth at the mouth at a conversation which you were not even in, and must go as far as to make up an erroneous backstory for me, lol. Seek Christ, or in earnest, you will see Hell. It's not what I wish for you, but if I'm being honest it is what I expect for people like you. Luckily for you, only God knows the fate of a man.

    Romans 6
Dead to Sin, Alive in Christ

6 What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase? 2 By no means! We are those who have died to sin; how can we live in it any longer? 3 Or don’t you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? 4 We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.

5 For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we will certainly also be united with him in a resurrection like his. 6 For we know that our old self was crucified with him so that the body ruled by sin might be done away with,[a] that we should no longer be slaves to sin— 7 because anyone who has died has been set free from sin.

8 Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him. 9 For we know that since Christ was raised from the dead, he cannot die again; death no longer has mastery over him. 10 The death he died, he died to sin once for all; but the life he lives, he lives to God.

11 In the same way, count yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus. 12 Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body so that you obey its evil desires. 13 Do not offer any part of yourself to sin as an instrument of wickedness, but rather offer yourselves to God as those who have been brought from death to life; and offer every part of yourself to him as an instrument of righteousness. 14 For sin shall no longer be your master, because you are not under the law, but under grace.

      Slaves to Righteousness

15 What then? Shall we sin because we are not under the law but under grace? By no means! 16 Don’t you know that when you offer yourselves to someone as obedient slaves, you are slaves of the one you obey—whether you are slaves to sin, which leads to death, or to obedience, which leads to righteousness? 17 But thanks be to God that, though you used to be slaves to sin, you have come to obey from your heart the pattern of teaching that has now claimed your allegiance. 18 You have been set free from sin and have become slaves to righteousness.

19 I am using an example from everyday life because of your human limitations. Just as you used to offer yourselves as slaves to impurity and to ever-increasing wickedness, so now offer yourselves as slaves to righteousness leading to holiness. 20 When you were slaves to sin, you were free from the control of righteousness. 21 What benefit did you reap at that time from the things you are now ashamed of? Those things result in death! 22 But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves of God, the benefit you reap leads to holiness, and the result is eternal life. 23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in[b] Christ Jesus our Lord.

TL;DR Christianity is about renewing the spirit and living in righteousness. It's not lazy, even if false teachers want to pretend like lip service is enough to be a real Christian. Salvation is a free gift, but no longer being a slave to sin is the the natural result of being saved. The truth is Jesus wanted us to love God, and our neighbour. Many "Christians" just don't practice what they preach.

There's another mystery in what you've shared. It is an important facet of Roman's 6 - for me, of personal significance, as the Lord once, at random from my point of view, showed me a vision which I understood because of it.

In Romans 6 we see the New Spiritual Hierarchy. After Adam sinned, Man sank in the spiritual hierarchy to be beneath Satan, whom the Word tells us is the god of this world. More specifically, Man's role as the god of this world passed to Satan. We see Satan in this role when he offers Christ tempts Christ with the kingdoms of the earth. Christ, God in the flesh, came as a man and as a man redeemed the position of the human race. We are now seated with Christ in the Heavenlies, once again over Satan, his angels, and the earth. This is only true for redeemed man. Unredeemed man has no choice. They are subject to Satan and his angels. They are dead, blind, naked, and unarmed. They have no hope until they come to Christ. Redeemed man, however, is in a position of choice again, same as Adam in a sense - submit to God and present yourself for greater sanctification, or submit to your flesh and sin.

It might not be a very clear explanation, I'm a bit sleepy, but hopefully further reading of the Word will clear up any confusion I may have caused.

His idea of Christianity is just evangelicals screaming about "good works being Satanic" or whatever. Christians all over the world practice spiritual discipline in order to be in union with God. Asceticism is literally following the example of Christ.
