If Allah is "an Moon God" why are Adam, Abraham, Moses, and Jesus characters in the Quran? What's the point of this? Who is this for?

They came from Abraham but we're a bunch of pagans who eventually copied their israeli cousins with a counterfeit monotheistic version of their early paganism.

you people get way too caught up caring about the origins of monothiesm when all monothiest gods began as some pagan diety. It's removing the other gods and focusing on one that allows cultures to contemplate the divine oneness and see the truth of the universe.

Muhammad wouldn’t have been as successful if he if he completely made up a religion from scratch, rather than claiming to be a prophet of an already-established God. Same story as Joseph Smith

The allusions to the "Sabaeans" are proof of this.
What were the "Sabaeans"? In a Quranic sense?
Why did Islamic scholars use "Sabaean" to refer to pagans?
Mohammad legitimately tried to play all sides
      >I'm preaching the God of the israelites
      >I'm preaching the God of the Christians
      >I'm preaching the (Moon) God of the Arab Pagans

      >oy vey why do they persecute me so???

Name one trait Allah has in common with the pre-Arabian "moon God" that the Old Testament Yahweh doesn't also have. I'll wait.

Jehovah isn't a moon God, for starters.
Even taking an atheistic view, Jehovah is a thunderous god of war and lightning. Opposed to equivalent lunar and solar dieties in the Near East.

Name one personality trait that Quran Allah and Old Testament Yahweh don't share. I'll wait.

Same exact monotheistic god with the same exact capricious vengeful personality. Same exact list of prophets. Same exact cosmology. B-b-b-but one of them is a "moon God" because he just is.

How does that count when Mohammed was ripping off of the Old Testament?
          Obviously, here is one:
Jehovah has free will and is not a deterministic god.
"allah" is essentially not a person at all and is more like a karmic force of nature with no personality.
Allah doesn't have a personality. The Quran merely gives him a series of EPITHETS.

Jehovah is Calvinistic as frick though. That's kind of the entire point of prophecy.

            >Jehovah is Calvinistic as frick though.
            What does that even mean.
Jehovah asserts that "he does not change" and that he "repents not"
What this means in context is up to you; but he literally "repents" all the time in response* to human free will.
Jehovah "repented himself that he made man" in regards to the Flood
He "repents" of the destruction of Nineveh in Jonah.
He decides not to destroy the entire nation of Israel at the intercession of Moses.

I'm not sure if Allah does* anything at all in the Quran.
            There's Gabriel I suppose.

No such thing. God, El, Jaweh, Allah are all different dieties.

Yea makes no sense. I respect Allah as an influential pagan deity important to his people along the likes of Zeus and Jupiter. In fact, I respect Allah more than Muslims because I'm not altering him or twisting his words to fit my own ideals.

Isn't it interesting that muslims assert that the Bible is corrupted, but when you show them specific examples of the Quran contradicting the Bible, they usually try to explain those contradictions away? Perhaps they're not even sure that the Quran claims the Bible is corrupted, but they're too lazy and dumb to put up the effort of reconciling them.

Polytheism makes it easier to integrate other cultures (see late Rome, who cares what else you worship as long as you also worship the Emperor)
Monotheism closes the culture, making it more resilient. Useful if you want to conquer shit without caring about integrating then into society.
