Somehow you can understand matter in three states but can’t understand three persons in one Godhead?

      1 is shorthand for .999...

    So,
(You) don't BELIEVE that Three (3) people can be in One (1) Family?

In Exodus where it say The Lord our God, The Lord Is One.
    YHVH, El Shaddai, is Echad
God is One (PLURAL) - God are one
    Husband and Wife Are One.

    GET IT?

I think it's harder to understand what God is.

He is NOT of this Universe or anywhere in TIME.
That was invented for US, and this creation.
    There are other Creations.

God is still One. The same God, in all creation, Who Created everything that is, except him/them-selves

Three divine persons who are distinguished from one another. We must understand the difference between person and being.

A rock has a being, but not a person. A human has a being, and a person. We can usually only understand these two examples, and nothing greater or lesser.
So, what is person vs being? A being is what a thing is. A person is who a being is. A rock is a what, but not a who. A man is a who and a what. God has three whos, and one what.

“1+1+1” is always 3 – so if you add one being, to one being, to one being, that is three beings. But the trinity isn’t saying that there are three beings. God is one – one being. But there are 3 persons within the being of God.

When we speak of Trinity, we speak of the being of God – which is what makes God, God – which, being infinite, eternal, unlimited, can therefore be shared by three persons. To repeat, the being of God is infinite, eternal, unlimited, so can be shared by three persons.

Monotheism speaks to the being of God, while trinitarianism speaks to the persons of God. The negation of monotheism is polytheism, while the negation of trinitarianism (three persons) is unitarianism (one person). Trinitarianism is NOT the negation of monotheism.

Out of three main monotheistic faiths, Christianity is only trinitarian. Judaism and Islam are unitarian, in that they believe in one being, and one person. Christianity believes in one being, which is shared by three persons.

If you deny monotheism, you now have polytheism.
If you deny three divine Persons, you have modalism/oneness.
If you deny equality of the Persons, you have subordinationism (e.g. JW: one main God, Jesus is creature, Spirit isn’t even a person).

    >Why do Christians believe 3 = 1?

If you got this from the thread where I proved Trinitarianism is incoherent in two different ways -- this one, and where it says a=b, b=c, a=/=c -- I'm flattered.
