        and?

        But all rook same

that didn't stop whites from bombing each other to shit for most of their history

I'm Venezuelan and my wife is Argentinian. I've traveled most of the continent and I can safely tell you that the only thing we share is language. Maybe religion, but CIA-funded evangelical missionaries are taking over what once was a mostly Catholic region. That and secularism.

If Gran Colombia didn't work, be assured that nothing else will.

        good post.

Too many mountains splittling up South America make it difficult for a large government to control the area.

Good. Hopefully, you'll all develop a Protestant work ethic and strong institutions, and finally stop being shitholes.

IQ. Stupid people don't unite they squabble over their immediate, narrow interests.

    Gee, I don't know.

I'd rather start using latinx in day to day conversations than share the same state with Bolivians.

iirc they mostly maintained the feudal system of land/rural wealth which immediately made it impossible for a central authority stronger than the spanish onr to hold accountable its subdivisions. They did the same with clerical priviledges, leaving them mostly intact. This was probably done in response to the native revolts that happened less than a century before, and for the peruvian case, I remember reading the description of Lima while the war of independence was happening, the indian peasants and black slaves were getting uppity against colonial authority, which probably made criollo authorities prioritize maintaining the feudal status quo.

    1. colonial wars resulted in unsynchronized history
    2. why mix all the test tubes in the lab?
    3. huge state would be too powerful for the powers that be, they should stay separated, or the shadow aristocracy would lose control over them
even if they would fully control it, even a fully controlled huge state can accidentally exterminate the shadow elite
