      >they trust "experts"
It's kinda insane how much society seems to have devolved for it to be considered something bad to trust an expert when they're talking about a field they've been working in/studying all their life. Do you want society to start from scratch with every generation?

      BIG NUMBER SCARY!
Also the distance between sun, moon and earth changes due to both orbits being elliptical, so the moon only perfectly covers the sun during some eclipses, during others it's either "too big" or "too small"

You can travel by plane from New Zealand to Chile. That alone disproves most flat Earth models with an Antarctic ice wall.

Flatties unironically claim those flights don't exist and only show up in flight records to fool you into thinking the earth is round.

Civilians can't fly over Antarctica, it's not permitted. Nobody thinks the "ice wall" is miles high or whatever the frick strawman you think people believe. This barrier was encountered by the earliest explorers and hindered their entry into the continent. It's about 200 ft tall and now known as as the Ross Ice Shelf. When they "cross" the South Pole they just travel between two parts on the tip of this shelf lmao.

        >Civilians can't fly over Antarctica, it's not permitted.
Gonna need a big source on that statement. I know there are some limited commercial flights over Antarcita for adverture-tourism purposes, but I'm fairly certain the only thing stopping someone from taking their Cessna out there is thats its so damn remote

          Anonymous

It is extremely expensive to visit, entire trip must be fully approved by tons of different bodies, your route is restricted to known "safe" areas and you cannot freely explore beyond that under any circumstances. As for flight over the continent, you literally cannot.

            Anonymous

I looked more into it, and you seem to be confused. No aircraft before recently was officially certified for non-stop flights over Antarctica, when people said it was "forbidden" they didn't mean in any legal sense, rather no aircraft was ETOPS certified for the distances involved. ETOPS describes an aircraft non-stop distance certification standard. More recent commercial aircraft, however, are now certified for non-stop Antarctic flights (under ETOPS 330 certification).
You can, however, still fly over Antarctica in theory without ETOPS 330, but it couldn't be non-stop, you'd need to make refueling stops, and since there are no fuel stations out there, its effectively not possible for those types of aircraft, but nobody needs to hand-hold you though the process. You can, right now, fly a small single engine two passenger aircraft over Antarctica without restriction granted you have plenty of fuel. You'd just need to treat it as uncontrolled airspace, since there are no towers anywhere to state your intentions.

Ancient civilizations figured this shit out with no technology, by just looking at the sky and thinking a bit. You could do the same right now, but I advise against it, because it might challenge your world view.
Though if I've learned anything from watching a couple flat earth videos, is that they don't even know how to properly do a basic experiment, so maybe I'm giving you too much credit.

            >Ancient civilizations figured this shit out with no technology
They literally didn't. Babylonians, Egyptians, Chinese, Indians, Norse, even most ancient Greeks all agreed on a stationary plane. If you think otherwise, you're simply uneducated.

If you disagree with them, you're saying you are smarter than the people who invented mathematics, geometry, astronomy, etc. simply because you watched some science "educators" do a documentary where they feed you a bunch of bullshit with cartoons and you believe it.

Well I can't be fricked to fact check that, but it's beside the point. What I'm saying is that some of them figured out the earth is round and could even calculate its diameter using incredibly basic methods
            >If you disagree with them, you're saying you are smarter than the people who invented mathematics, geometry, astronomy, etc
Beyond moronic take. I disagree with them, because I have access to vastly more information than they had.
I don't claim to be smarter than ancient greeks, just because I know that lightning is caused by electric discharge from a cloud, not Zeus. I don't claim to be smarter than some medieval scholar, just because I know that spontaneous generation is wrong. I don't claim to be smarter than a blind man, just because I can see what's on the other side of the road and he can't.
            >because you watched some science "educators" do a documentary where they feed you a bunch of bullshit with cartoons and you believe it
Nah, I actually attended a university, where I learned the laws of physics by performing experiments to verify those laws.

If there was evidence for your side, I would have seen it by now. The fact is ballers just adhom and lie through every debate. They have no evidence and just appeal to authority and the "scientific" justifications to support your model in terms of physics are beyond fricking moronic.

Of course, just charter a flight. Again though, you don't need to be a multi-millionaire to fly your own aircraft over Antarctica, just a pilots license, keep in mind you likely wont have enough fuel to fully cross it in one go however
