What do you think about Christians who hate Halloween?

Does knowledge mean glorification? Why shouldn't there be a day for the dead?

In ancient times it was a day of rituals to protect the community from evil spirits. They made fires and offerings to their gods, and were singing and dancing. "Halloween" is just a modern nonsense.

So if I watch a Michael Myers movie tonight what does it mean in terms of my relationship to God?

      Probably not much.

That you yourself don't take your relationship with God seriously. That's ok though because we are all far short of being good, just repent and try and do better.

And extremely relevant to modern western society. Especially today's godless puritanism of the moral objectivists who rule over it.

I always believe the world is either 51% evil 49% good or 51% good and 49% evil.. depending on the current era.

It is 100% evil, there can be no good as long as we are sperate from God. We are just granted moments of reprieve through God's Grace.

You are wrong, and modern life has all the evidence you could ever require to prove it. The more we "live and let live" the more our world falls apart. Puritanism is a reaction to regain control of our society that is in the death throes. It is probably already too late, but we were never meant to survive life anyways I just don't want to force others to damn themselves for "pleasure".

We must not let it be replaced with some other evil egregoric demon like Communism though.

Me when I celebrate all saints eve aka hallow eve aka Halloween and Christians that do not take the time to look it up. The day after Halloween is the Christian version of the day of the dead btw and hallows eve too. The whole point of giving out candy was to bless the children and homeless though it would be a small cake called a soul cake

They're weird. My grandpa is immensely Christian, he was born on Halloween and celebrates it just as he celebrates his birthday.

He is right, all hallows eve is a day of the dead but for remembering and thanking the saints while the day after is for Remembering everyone. Those who claim to be hardcore Christian’s really need to research this stuff

I feel sorry for them. It all comes from a place of trauma and substituting healing with religious extremes in order to reinforce a sense of security.
I once listen to someone say their dad wouldn't let them celebrate Christmas because it was "a pagan holiday."

The origins of the anti-halloween attitude has its roots in Protestant fundamentalism with a very narrow, literal interpretation of Scripture, which grew out of the corruption that emerged in the aftermath of the Black Death and the lost of Christian Mystical Traditions.
Later in American that underlying attitude would fester in the aftermath of the Satanic panicked. The Satanic Panic in turn was spurred on by the media who, due to inducting woman into the workforce and basically ignoring a subset of them with undiagnosed borderline schizophrenia, picked up paranoid stories of Satanists hurting their kids and spread it throughout the general population.

Now we're basically seeing the remnants of that, which is largely gone but still holding out in some areas. My own parents allowed me to celebrate Halloween but I couldn't be anything that wasn't "real." No ghosts, wizards, ect.
So I pity Christians like that, because it's not their fault. They are themselves victims of forces beyond their control.

        >Christmas because it was "a pagan holiday."
Yeah Christmas is a weird one. I heard the actual date Jesus was born is September 11. And also September isn't in the right order or something

Not really. Though certain pagan customs were absorbed into it, but the belief the Christmas came from Yule is untrue. Many people making that claim shifted it to claim the original of Christmas was in the Roman Saturnalia, which was celebrated around the same time; however, Christians of that time had no problem celebrating Saturnalia, and as Saturnalia was celebrated in the day and Christmas at night, they would participate in Roman holiday then partake of their own. So it's likely that Christmas is it's own holiday even if celebrations and elements from other Holidays were incorporated into it as other cultures were assimilated.

I believe the December 25th date came from this weird math thing they did based on amount from when they believe He was Crucified and when he was born. With Christians farther east using a similar method and coming to a date 2 weeks later. I think Christmas is still celebrated in January around Russian
I can't remember the details though.

Because the dead have no part in life. They have no experience or memory. You are creating a false idol by worshipping those who have died.

It's not worship it's acknowledging those who came before you. Paying your respects to your ancestors is not worship. Fundi's are an absolute crazy bunch of loons who don't even understand their own religion. I like my holy people who live their life on an even keel. Extremists of all stripes are terrible human beings.

It's Samhain. They dressed it up a bit so the Celts wouldn't make a big fuss, but it was the central and most important religious festival (the new year and the thinning of the veil) in Celtic paganism.

To Christian elites and their makers, it represents a vestige of the idolatrous religion they want to destroy.

To the average joe the plumber christcuck, it's nothing more complicated than "muh satanism" at things they don't understand.

    >old s adults walking around in loose/clown outfits
its now mere fashion, like everything else it is now just a show for the sake of doing nothing substance left to it. why everything now a day is just about fashion and partying. Spiritual aspect of festival is completely tossed aside. Its more about party than actual meaningful celebration. i would like to call it sociatal Entropy at work . Its over, we are on a downward spiral of doom. No wonder gods are mere pendents and not saviours anymore.

    Who cares?

I don't wanna shit on Christians, since there are a few of them who are actually intelligent, read the Bible and understand it fully (not just extracting a few quotes from it here and there when it suit their needs) and actually has some common sense, but some of them are ridiculously moronic and cynical, saying shit like "this home doesn't celebrate helloween!!!" but turning a blind eye to all sorts of degenerate shit like beating their kids up or watching their black friend frick their wife.
