Why do you people act like you know jack shit about the islamic world and it's history? Like reducing the rise of wahhabism to just domination of turkic people just seems very reductionist imo.

The ummah were unironically buck-broken by the Mongol conquest of Baghdad. It was so terrible and traumatic and event that led to them completely abandoning the idea of a rational god for a lovecraftian entity

they were mindbroken and never recovered. It's very tragic actually; what can you do

It is the exact opposite. They had a rational and completely transcendent "lovecraftian" God, and then abandoned it with the rise of "wahabism" and salafism for an anthropomorphized God with limbs and a face similar to the israelites and christians and this is their downfall. The only people immune to this are the shia.

    >*advances philosophy by 1000 years*
It didn't. All of the philosophy developed in that period, whether by Muslims or Christians trying tto imitate them, amounted to nothing more than stagnant meandering at best and total dead ends at worst. Philosophy as a field was only able to advance when people rejected their style of of philosophizing as a starting point.
But I'll give credit where credit is due, they produced many great scientists and mathematicians during this period.

      >stagnant meandering at best and total dead ends at worst
That's literally all of modern philosophy

I bet you think you're smarter than Aquinas and Bonaventure.

No, I don't think of myself as particularly intelligent at all. That being said, I think Descartes was vastly more intelligent than all of them.

His mathematics was good but that's about it

Descartes is so stupid that he literally just recycled a proof of God from Anselm of Canterbury that Aquinas had thorougly discredited almost 500 years before he was born.

Descartes demonstrated that all of the assumptions underpinning medieval philosophy needed to be brushed away for any serious work to be done. Descartes rendering of any argument made by medieval is more legitimate because it was said after the groundwork for doing meaningful philosophical work was laid.
I'd disagree that Aquinas refuted anything, and I'd also disagree that there was anything to refute in Anselm's work. Anselm made an argument that was meaningless, only to gain meaning when it was decontextualized by someone who had began serious philosophical investigation. It is only through total decontextualization and and a willingness to totally ignore the history of philosophy when it comes to engaging with the text that meaning can be found in extremely small passages within them. I have a fare more radical stance on medieval time-wasters than even the greatest cynic. That's the big issue with medieval philosophy. It is not that it is wrong but that it is incapable of being right or wrong. That all those large tomes cannot mean anything.

      Yes

      >stagnant meandering at best and total dead ends at worst
That's literally all of modern philosophy

Obviously as a whole philosophy is going to retread ground, but there has definitely been more progress made in philosophy in the past 300-500 years than medieval christcuckery. We have had

Descartes, Leibniz, Spinoza, Hume, Locke, Berkeley, KANT, Fichte, Schelling, Hegel, Schopenhauer, Nietzsche, Kierkegaard, Heidegger, Wittgenstein, (and we will ignore all of the dogshit reddit slop existentialists like Camus and Sartre).

All of these thinkers had profound disagreements with at least 75% of the others. Many believed in god and many were atheist, there is an undeniable explosion of variation compared to the Scholastics who literally argued about the most brainnumbing menial shit. It is like watching people argue about the Marvel lore but they actually think it is real.

Even the Greeks had a greater variety and amount of progress than the Christcucks with the Presocratics and Plato/Aristotle. Aquinas is literally nothing without Aristotle or Augustine.

    >outright plagiarism form aforementioned archives

The 'golden age' is a typical revisionist shibboleth hiding the ugly truth of the matter. Plenty of non-court histories out there.

I was about to mention that Persians were the Intelligencia really. They even shat on Arabs for being Caravan Raiding Barbarians. So really Frogman, nothing has changed in the people. It's just that iconoclastic sects and the Arabs, due to Western meddling, run the show now.

Both of them are lesser peoples, but the first time they got lucky by inheriting culture from the Greeks and Persians before totally mongrelising themselves with simian subsaharans because of their inferior semitic religion.
