best study bible out of the hundreds of common editions that exists is The Didache Bible. it has excellent intros for each book, explanatory notes, and other useful material. theres also a strong emphasis on the bible as a source for ethics, which many cucked publishers subvert.

yes its actually the single best intro catholic study bible for budding bible scholars, but its suitable for other denominations since its one of the few to remark significantly on doctrine and morality as i mentioned

This is accurate. The New Testament, especially Acts and Paul's Sperg Letters, is the greatest hoax ever foisted on mankind.

Why foist? Because anyone sufficiently critical and sufficiently literate can recover the forgeries without any outside research whatsoever. The doublets... the overlapping text of the Gospels and the Gnostic Jesus of John get one scratching the head real quick.

      Jerome's Bible refutes itself.

It's the best for the historical-critical method yes, but doesn't really teach about Christianity. I preferred the ESV version, it's Protestant but 90% of it is agnostic but you actually learn about Christianity. I've read the Orthodox Study Bible too but it is underwhelming. I have not read a Catholic one yet.

Nta but the commentary is usually very sparse. Especially in the Old Testament, most of the commentary is about connecting Jesus to the OT and not actually about what’s going on or the ideas in reference to OT times. It’s still very good if you want an easily accessible Septuagint translation though.

I prefer the Revised Standard Version, the NRSV makes a few changes that I really dislike such as translating malakoi differently to be less offensive and also the very weird, off-putting, and possibly theologically unsound purgation of any gendered terms.

I recommend not using a study Bible. Completely non-comprehensible passages are rare, and can be googled. There is a Wikipedia page for every chapter of the Bible. You’ll get a much better reading experience if you aren’t bogged down by 10 notes per chapter.

Are there any bible studies that have a critical or anti-christian lens? Sorry for the edge.
