        As Thomas Jefferson said:
        >I can never join Calvin in addressing his god. He was indeed an Atheist, which I can never be; or rather his religion was Daemonism. If ever man worshipped a false god, he did. The being described in his 5 points is not the God whom you and I acknowledge and adore, the Creator and benevolent governor of the world; but a daemon of malignant spirit. It would be more pardonable to believe in no god at all, than to blaspheme him by the atrocious attributes of Calvin.

Huh so that's how you get to universalism or deism from Calvinism.

            >jefferson says calvin is wrong
            >therefore he's getting from calvinism to deism
            Are you moronic?

Read the Sinners in the Hand of an Angry God sermon. Calvinists view God as some completely alien entity who's so far beyond humanity that he doesn't even care about us, we're just like insects to a person, a minor annoyance. When God sends a person to Hell for all eternity it's no different than a person squashing a bug, because our lives are so completely inconsequential and meaningless. The only way to escape hell is to be a member of the "Elect," one of the chosen few to be saved and spend all eternity worshiping him and praising him for being loving enough not to condemn you. The theology sounds straight out of Lovecraft honestly.

A lot of religions have that in their creation myth at least. So most. But those gods aren't very emotionally satisfying so we get magic people.

I said Zurvanism because they reject the all-good Ahura Mazda is not the being that should be worshipped, instead they insist that Zurvan (which means existence-in-one) is first being and unconsciouss thing without any material body of his own. Primordial, omnipresent yet mindless and chaotic. Thats why theyw ere seen as a threat and got eradicated.

Many faith have an almighty God that doesn't meddle in human affairs or has long departed to places unknown. In several the creator God isn't all mighty at all.

If you’re determined to believe in such nonsense, why not just invent it yourself or use a videogame wiki as your scripture
