    >Holy Bible
What makes it holy? Is it that individual specific book that is holy (priest spraid some holy water on it)? Or all bibles are holy? If that's the case then why even write holy if there are no unholy (christian) bibles?

Bible means books. These are which books? The holy books.

In order to understand the Bible you must learn Koine Greek and read the original manuscript.
You must put it under your pillow every night.
You must walk around in public with it underneath your armpit.
You must kiss it each time before you eat.
You must caress it every time before making a major decision.
And finally you must smack blasphemers of Christ with it.
If you do this long enough, it will start glowing and have the ability to deflect bullets, rockets, and even lasers.
It will then evolve from the Good book to the Omega Super book directly fueled by the blood of Christ.

It's a terrible attitude to take, the Bible is not difficult. You can sperg out as hard as you like about it, and theologists have been doing this for millennia, but the stories and the message are straightforward to understand, if difficult to live by.

Think of how much analysis people today put into watching a show like Game of Thrones or how many theories abound about The Shining. Now consider how much of that same misdirected creativity went into interpreting religious texts over the centuries.

You just have to read it and think about what you're reading, but there are absolutely parts which are not easy to understand.

I think it's because that the Bibles obvious meanings aren't very satisfying, so people come up with their own ideas, and then justify them finding them in the Bible, because they're committed to a revealed religion. And this has gone on for 2000 years I guess.

Name one example of this. My experience is people have difficulty understanding the simplest allegories, which causes a lot of confusion. The other day an anon argued Jesus literally wanted us to pluck our eyes out.

    >LoveGod
    >Love your neighbor as yourself.
    >Forgive others who have wronged you.
    >Love your enemies.
    >Ask God for forgiveness of your sins.
    >Jesus is the Messiah and was given the authority to forgive others.
    >Repentance of sins is essential.
    >Don’t be hypocritical.
    >Don’t judge others.
    >The Kingdom of God is near. It’s not the rich and powerful—but the weak and poor—who will inherit this kingdom.

These are the teachings of Christ as written in the Bible.
If you do not follow these teachings in your everyday life you are not a Christian.
If you cherrypick parts of the old testament to undermine these teachings you are not a Christian and are guilty of vanity.
teachings of Christ take presidence over all other types of knowledge.

"....One of the teachers of the law came and heard them debating. Noticing that Jesus had given them a good answer, he asked him, “Of all the commandments, which is the most important?”
“The most important one,” answered Jesus, “is this: ‘Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one.[e] 30 Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these.”

I think the only explanation that is possible is
    >there is a small population of Christians who are in the elect and are indistinguishable from others
    >they are guided to the true understanding of the Bible through the Holy Spirit
    >other people outside of the elect are not guided by the Holy Spirit and that accounts for the wide variety of interpretations, some which could be valid and others which are not

Also my personal opinion is that the Bible is a collection of ancient documents which are themselves made up of many strands of differing traditions which were redacted together at different points in time

I think that all Christians are guided by the holy spirit but it depends on who truly loves in heart God that will receive the true blessing

"You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength, and with all your mind; and your neighbor as yourself" (Lk. 10:27).

It's a bad take. It's really just a way to claim that you yourself are receiving special guidance when you're actually not different from the person you're arguing with, who may very well feel the same way. Debate other Christians honestly and accept that people of good faith can disagree on certain things.

Well nobody knows if they're in the elect

I think that all Christians are guided by the holy spirit but it depends on who truly loves in heart God that will receive the true blessing

"You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength, and with all your mind; and your neighbor as yourself" (Lk. 10:27).

Why would God guide Christians by the Holy Spirit into damnation?
