Religion exists because humanity as a whole hasn't evolved to the point where they can fully comprehend what it means to be alive and what material reality is, but they're at the awkward spot where they can perceive things that aren't immediately visible, so it's easier to just say god exists. Science makes a god seem less and less likely, which tends to sway people that yearn for evidence-based reality, but the default intuitive position for humanity is, technically, that god exists. It's a perfectly reasonable assumption based on our current capabilities and without any further knowledge. Doesn't mean it's right, but people are just working with what they have. If people were smarter they'd just adapt to new knowledge, but they aren't.

The big bang theory. Every field of science having predictable formulas. Math works. Astrology shows how unlikely it is that our universe could have been the result of random chance. Everything happens because of cause and effect. The universe operates under similar laws to a computer simulation. Etc.

Do you need to be a theologian to comment on religion?

You need to know and understand simple terminology to be able to effectively discuss a topic. You’ve shown that when it comes to scientific study you don’t know what you’re talking about.

Your entire argument right now hinges upon on a typographical error. Are you aware of that?

            Anonymous

That ain’t a typo bud, a typo would be astronony or astromony, both would still indeed reveal a lower level of understanding, however you just did not know the difference between astrology and astronomy. That reflects an even lower level of understanding about this topic and science in general. I am wasting my time talking to you.

If the only part about wgat I said you are able to refute was the spelling, then maybe you are wasting time.

      1. The second coming never happened.
      2. Adam and Eve didn't happen.
      3. Prayer doesn't work.
      4. Christians aren't magically speaking foreign languages, surviving poison, picking up wild snakes without dying, curing the blind, etc.
      5. Apologetics exists.

You can't prove that God doesn't exist. And just because something is manmade doesn't mean it's not true or valuable. After all, we also created science and technology, and those have proven to be pretty useful.

      >You can't prove that God doesn't exist.
I don't need too. The burden of proof lies with the one who speaks, not the one who negates.
      > And just because something is manmade doesn't mean it's not true or valuable
True. Existance of Feuerbach's God is undeniable because we talk about God,

        >The burden of proof lies with the one who speaks, not the one who negates.
That's not how science works. If you have a different theory, you must either disprove the first theory or else prove your own. You can't do either so you simply shift the burden of proof.
