Do people only believe in the Bible in case the after life is real?

And why would the word of God be in a book that's easily modified? A simpler solution I'm leaning towards is that God is observable by everyone at any time just by looking around..for example I'm sitting on my sofa, I should be able to briefly look around and figure out God and the meaning of life.

Any ideas how this would be possible? Maybe through emotion or needs etc?

It's all social. They do it because either their parents did it, or because they saw memes about crusaders or muscular jesus, or because they have some strange (but extremely Hebrew) slave fetishism.

Christians don't read The Bible, I guarantee it.

I read it every day. I read it more than I read my Tarot cards.
It has been an excellent tool to confirming my beliefs and giving fresh perspective on things. Christ is Lord, but Christ is also I.

I believe in it for its inner mystical meanings, when you read it just read it with an open mind and search for inner truths

It’s not the only place with the word of God, in fact the word of God came to it via its modifications

I get the feeling some of it is FOMO. It has to be. If the bible said
    >when you die you will live forever in the afterlife in an empty room with no windows or doors and you'll be on your own forever with nothing to do
then nobody would be a Christian most likely. There's definitely some kind of reward there that people want

    >why would the word of God be in a book that's easily modified?
The equivalent for today I guess would be if God make a website, like some fairly basic website that was like all the other websites. People would probably think that sounds ridiculous, but that's basically what he did

Like why doesn't the bible have anything about how to travel faster than light, or how black holes work, or how to make antibiotics, or just anything that would help people understand the universe. Instead it's just these vague stories that people endlessly argue over the meaning of and it's created more division if anything

The Bible is full to the brim with metaphor, and heaven is one of them. We will all eventually turn to dust, and nobody is saying otherwise. But that just means we are part of the universe. We are the universe observing itself and expressing itself within the universe. What created the universe we refer to as 'God', but he is the universe too, since the universe is a reflection of himself. Since we are part of the universe, we are a reflection of God, and thus will return to him when the universe ends. Until then, we will be dust. Those who don't except this fact die a horrible death that is akin to ego death during a bad trip. But they will also be dust and return to God against their will.

For me, the simplest way to consider this, is the complexity of even the most simple thing in the context of an immense chaotic universe where Disorder reigns supreme.

Take you for example the odds of you existing as you are infinitesimally small and by all the odds you should not exist in this chaotic universe.

Even just taking your own parents. Out of all the billions of spermatozoa that your father produces over his lifetime and all the ovum produced by all the women in the world, just one sperm and one egg had to meet to produce you. The odds of that happening are again massively small. Now multiply those odds back all the generations of your family and you get an insanely huge number saying you should not exist but you do

Each and every living and non living thing on earth is a miracle in its own right considering the odds are greatly stacked against it even existing in the first place.

Each of those miracles had to occur against massive odds for each unique thing on earth going back all the generations with these odds increasing ever against its existence as time moves forward

How is that possible without a hidden structure or design. This very thought experiment on the fine tuning of existence is what has driven many top physicists to consider a creator a real possibility.

Physics graduate whose first class in Maths physics was on this very thought experiment by a proper physics professor who understood physics being natural philosophy. But this was in the 90s before things got pozzed to shit
