Christian Ethics

Do women have a soul? I'm inclined to believe that they do not. Man was lifted directly from the Earth, but Woman was made from Man's rib, to serve as his helper. According to the Bible, Womankind was made to serve and aid us, not to be treated as our equal. The Bible also shows that God only spoke to Adam and solely to other Men, God never speaks to Woman. And beyond the biblical teaching, women show themselves to be so heavily inclined towards the flesh and all its temptations to a much greater degree than Man is, to the point that in all of human history they have no philosophers, theologians or prophets.

Do you agree? Why/why not?

    >Do women have a soul?
    Yes

    > I'm inclined to believe that they do not.
Doesn't matter what you are inclined to believe.

    >God never speaks to Woman
Your title says "Christian Ethics", do you not believe that Jesus is God?? Because Jesus speaks to women all the time

Jesus chose 12 people to be His direct disciples and establish His Church. Not a single one of these people were women. Just because He speaks to them, heals them, and praises their faith, it doesn't mean he considers them Man's equal. He clearly has no bias against Gentiles, yet compares a Gentile woman to a dog. Can you explain this? The only answer that I can see is that God made Man in His image, and sees a woman as He would see an animal

        >Not a single one of these people were women.
Relevant if you are talking about women's ordination. Irrelevant if you are talking about ensoulment. May as well say that Gentiles don't have souls.
Also the greatest Saint and the model for all Christians, including the Apostles, is a woman. (Blessed Virgin Mary).

They don’t, that’s why exterminating Canaanite cities isn’t immoral.

Woman is made in God's image
    >Genesis 1:27: So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

God is also called helper, it's not a denigrating word
    >Psalm 54:4 Behold, God is my helper; the Lord is the upholder of my life.

Men & women just have different roles

So why are women seemingly more prone to casual wickedness and obsession with the flesh? I'll concede that it seems God made both Man and Woman together, yet He places Woman in rightful second place. So they may have souls but are they further from God as Scripture seems to indicate?

      >Not a single one of these people were women.

One of Christ's apostles was a gentile (Luke). And the greatest Saint and model for all Christians is Jesus Christ

No. Jesus Christ is God himself. No Christian should ever place himself in the place of God. You should place yourself in the servant of God. The Virgin Mother.

Jesus, along with being God, was a Man. You cannot call yourself a Christian if your primary role model is not Jesus Christ. We are called to be like Christ, we are not called to be like Mary. Mary was a vessel, Jesus Christ is the Way, the Truth and the Life

        >So why are women seemingly more prone to casual wickedness and obsession with the flesh
They aren't, and women are equal with men.
God even said man isn't fully complete without woman.
        >Genesis 2:18: And the Lord God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.

So you don't believe in the Bible, got it.

Yes different roles but still equals. Adam stood by as Eve was deceived and didn't stop her but joined her, so man really isn't better.

Then why didn't Jesua take a woman as His disciple? Why didn't Jesus come to us as a woman? Why are women commanded to submit to their husbands and fathers and obey? I'm not saying we shouldn't treat them with love and kindness but clearly they are not our equals.

            Jesus had female disciples
Matthew 12:48-50: But he answered and said unto him that told him, Who is my mother? and who are my brethren? And he stretched forth his hand toward his disciples, and said, Behold my mother and my brethren! For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother.

He didn't have female apostles in his inner circle of the 12 because the 12 apostles represents the 12 tribes of Israel
            >Matthew 19:28: And Jesus said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That ye which have followed me, in the regeneration when the Son of man shall sit in the throne of his glory, ye also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.

The 12 tribes of Israel were from the twelve sons (i.e. men) of Jacob (who was called Israel), so of course the 12 apostles would be men.
            >Deuteronomy 27:12-13: These shall stand upon mount Gerizim to bless the people, when ye are come over Jordan; Simeon, and Levi, and Judah, and Issachar, and Joseph, and Benjamin: And these shall stand upon mount Ebal to curse; Reuben, Gad, and Asher, and Zebulun, Dan, and Naphtali.

Jesus of course came as a man because God revealed himself as a man in the OT, God made man first, being a man was a prophetic requirement for being the Messiah, etc.

Women have to submit to their husbands because of the curse in Genesis 3:16. And again they are equals because they are also made in the image of God as said earlier. Not to mention
            >Galatians 3:28: There is neither israelite nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.

This is actually more to do with women being so middle of the road on everything men do. Women don't do very many great things, but they also don't do very many horrible things either. This proves woman's purpose as family and house makers as well as being the husband's assistant, but they should be honored for doing such things because that is in of itself important for a society to properly function.

    >Do women have a soul?
Women take on human nature and therefore are human, so they must be human people with human bodies, human minds, and human souls. So yes, all women have souls.

    >I'm inclined to believe that they do not. Man was lifted directly from the Earth, but Woman was made from Man's rib, to serve as his helper. According to the Bible, Womankind was made to serve and aid us, not to be treated as our equal.
The final conclusion of women being unequal in humanity (e.g. lacking a human soul) doesn't necessarily follow. God is in Three Persons, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. The Father is the source and the Holy Spirit proceeds from the Father. The Holy Spirit is not the source in the Godhead yet is equal in divinity. Likewise, Adam is the human source of humanity and the humanity of Eve proceeded from Adam (by his rib), but Adam and Eve are equal in humanity. Ultimately, your conclusion is not only not necessarily true, but it is certainly false, because God has divinely revealed through His Church and His Saints that all humans (so including women of course) have souls.

    >The Bible also shows that God only spoke to Adam and solely to other Men, God never speaks to Woman.
In regard to the first commandment, which was a fasting rule to not eat from the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil, yes, the Bible only reveals God speaking to Adam about it. But beyond that, God surely directly speaks to women.

    >And beyond the biblical teaching, women show themselves to be so heavily inclined towards the flesh and all its temptations to a much greater degree than Man is, to the point that in all of human history they have no philosophers, theologians or prophets.
Take this with a grain of salt since this is my personal opinion, but I believe women are more likely to reach spiritual extremes of incredible virtue or incredible depravity. For example, the Theotokos, the Mother of God, by the grace of God acquired greater virtue than all men.

Women are just much more social. They seem to care a lot about social standing these days. Fail to see that society is a cult all of itself.
