shouldn't the 4000+ religions have a general consensus of the truth, considering all of the people live in the same world,

schizophrenia can have unlimited ideas but its not the truth. many of the religions contradict each other about the nature of god and whatever. I'm done guessing.

They do have a lot of shared common ground actually, way more than you'd expect if it was just a bunch of schizos making stuff up. They all have verticality for example. God or the One or the Pleroma or Nirvana or Heaven, whatever the spiritual goal is, is above us. Matter, sin, Hell, the desires, evil etc. are below us. Holy men ascend mountains (an upwards movement) to receive revelation, announce their prophethood, be "transfigured", receive enlightenment etc. On some level this is probably related to ontology; the basic structure of being itself is hierarchical and "vertical".

There are also a lot of tropes and motifs that don't cross cultures or that mean different things in different cultures and I definitely wouldn't say that all the religions are essentially the same or anything, they're not even the same in their most important features. But there's still way more similarity than an atheist would think there should be, it's what led people like Guenon to say they were all fundamentally teaching the same thing and people like Campbell say that there must have been far more cultural exchange before modernity than we've assumed because religious universals don't make any sense otherwise.

        >they're not even the same in their most important features
        For example: what is karma?
        >A. Metaphysical scale that weighs accumulated moral plus and minus points
        >B. Insight into how everyone and everything is connected by cause-effect through space and time. For example: a car crash happened because dinosaurs went extinct, mammals evolved and invented cars and society motivates people to rush.
        C. Like a spider needs to weave a web and ducks needs to quack.
Same word many different meanings. What does the original source even say? Nobody knows because people like sadhguru proudly admit that they don't even read that stuff.

    Here's the final redpill:

    https://www.reddit.com/r/Retconned/comments/u2c2o1/revelation_812_time_is_50_faster_now/

    Synopsis:

The Second Coming of Jesus will occur on Earth. First of all, the planet that we're currently on is Bozrah, not Earth (Bozrah is basically a replica version of Earth). Secondly, people who have lived here their entire lives need to realize that this planet was never Earth, and it never will be. It's an impostor planet.
